an unsweet tea at lone star. last major purchase was a Pelikan M620 Athens.

One man's mindless repetitive music is another man's sharing in the universal groove. but seriously chekhonte, if you are bored by the 1-15, the 40-50 (aka "the slog") will make you hate life. 50-60 also sucks, but by then at least you are used to not dinging once every 4-8 hours. After the level cap was raised, I didn't make it past 64 before I quit.

Sure. I only like it here because everyone likes the same gear I do. I fear different tastes and opinions. All this appreciation for new gear has me suspicious. If it wasn't made in the early 90s or earlier, or if it wasn't a piece of gear greatly misunderstood and underappreciated while it was in production. its got NO place at head-case, IMO. Unless it is a source with an MSRP > $4,000, of course.

I love the AT wings! The W5000 is extremely comfortable on my large noggin.

This is where I'm looking towards as well. I still think the HD650 is a hell of a can in its price range, but I'm prepared to pay a hefty price tag for a badass high end Sennheiser dynamic (the mythical HD700). My only experience with AT is the W5000, but I think it is a very intersesting can.

hey, i'm still rockin' the Grados! grado is king. while reks and j-pizzle are all like sellin' their shit, i'm holdin' it down 4 real.

sounds like mmorpgs might not be for you. i was completely enthralled when I was where you were. obviously even I got tired of it though.

Alright purk! Welcome to head-case!

I don't know yet. It's such a unique sound, really the polar opposite of the HP-2's out and out neutrality. The upper-midrange heat doesn't bother me anymore, it was just initially such a shock to my Grado and Sennheiser pampered ears. Also, I also haven't really been able to dedicate enough time to them to make a decision, not only because I've been busy lately but also because I got the GS-1k at the same time. So I've got to try to fit in not just test out new headphones time for two different headphones, but also normal listening time with my old headphones. It's a tough life I tells ya. This probably shouldn't affect my decision, but it also seems like the market is pretty flooded with W5000s for sale right now. I had three different buyers to choose from when I picked mine up, and I've seen even more pop up since then. Bottom line is I want to spend more time with both the gs-1k and the W5000, as if I end up selling either of them I want to be 100% sure it was the right decision.

happy birthday!! hopefully you'll get george r.r. martin finishing the series before he dies as a birthday present.

yeah the AH is great. just don't waste too much money on gear early on, since it becomes outdated so quickly. if you can find a decent enough guild or some good people to group with start running instances at 20 and up to get gear. what race/class did you roll?

just got back from seeing the symphony at an outdoor amphitheater down at the beach. lots of crowd pleasing type americana and scottish/irish riverdance type music. and fireworks! it was a lot of fun. also fred thompson was there. which was really weird. they showed one of his campaign ads or whatever on the big screen, then he stood up and they shined a spotlight on him. i was like, JUST watching him on the tnt law & order marathon before I left for the concert. weird.

i'm certainly no guru, but the thorens td 166 does get praise in the vintage turntable world. straight tonearms also typically get more respect then curved tonearms (says the guy with the curved tonearm having turntable). The Ariston is a snazzy looking 'table, but I've never heard of it. Lucky for you, you get to listen to them first! i'm sure you'll let us know what you decide.
-
yeah, get your feet wet first and see if the game is for you. 10-15 levels can usually tell you if you like a class enough to stick with it. just do lots of quests and go where the quests take you. don't buy gear at first, just equip whatever you earn from quests.

Check out Neverwhere if you haven't read it, its one of my favs.

one of the reasons I can't really get into another mmorpg is because I spend most of my free "me" time listening to music now.

cool, gg kay is great. i've only read "lions of al-rassan", but I'm looking forward to reading more.

i'll just reiterate what I've already said before in other threads: first one, classic. second one, they had a big hollywood budget for the first time and didn't know what the hell they were doing. fun to watch, and especially fun to really get to see a lot of jigsaw, who has an amazing screen presence. the actor who played the lead cop is a fucking hack, ruined the whole movie for me. him and his bimbo partner. the third movie is at least on par with the first. big budget, and they had a better idea of what they were doing. sure, the story was predictable, and NO WAY could it have all worked out exactly the way jigsaw wanted it to, but the same could be said for all the movies, though admittedly the third was a bit more of a stretch. but hell, its a horror flick. if I can't suspend my imagination a bit, i'd never enjoy a horror movie again.

you should try the supersonic breakfast burrito!

I could use a backup. I'll trade you a NEAR MINT grado gs1k WITH GRADO EXTENSION HEADPHONE CABLE.
