  1. With my feel HP 200SE tube mosfet hybrid amp, whenever I have my headphones pugged into the low gain jack, every now and again the left channel fades out to a whisper. If I turn the amp off and then turn it back on it corrects itself and won't fade out again that listening session. I know that amps are complex but is there an obvious reason why this would be happening?
  2. Your should watch Hannah and her Sisters then. It has no woodie allen and is a movie that I enjoy more than Match Point though I did REALLY enjoy that movie. That and his movie Interiors (again no woodie allen) are beyond exceptional dramas though they are very dark and may put people off for seeming bleak and hopeless. They're no more of any of those things that Match Point. If you liked that movie I would be surprised if you didn't like the other two.
  3. Grawk, you and I seem to have the opposite tastes. Some day we should hang out and I'll write a list of things I REAlLY hate and you'll write a list of things you REALLY hate. We'll swap lists at the end of the day and if all goes as I think will, then we'll both have a list of things we absolutely love.
  4. I've been watching Woodie Allen's dramas as of late (Interiors, Husbands and Wives, Match Point, Hannah and Her Sisters, etc) and really like them. In fact I like them as much as his best comedies, perhaps even more. I've heard that they're good but I had no idea that they rivaled even the best dramas out there. If you like sad, hopeless situations then I highly recommend them.
  5. You might really like the castle and the trial, very similar stories. They are both so goddamned exceptional and not only two of my favorite kafka stories but two of my favorite stories period. They are both, like all of kafkas writing very challenging to read and may be a little daunting but so fucking worth it.
  6. Well Flannery O'Connor is the great grandfather of neural network programming so I think she knows what she's talking about - Or she's being ironic and you're not cool enough to get it.
  7. I'm currently reading "Everything That Rises Must Converge" by Flannery O'Connor
  8. that's the sweetest thing I've ever seen in my life.
  9. I just have the crappy ratshack SPL meter. As for measuring accurately, I just put the mic up to the hole of a CD (they're the same size) and the place one earcup of the headphone on the other side of the CD. I'm sure that there are better, more accurate ways to measure volume but I'm lazy.
  10. I've decided after reading the "i guess i listen really loud" thread that I'd temporarily donate my sound level meter to who ever wants to use it. That way anyone that wants to determine safe listening levels can do just that. You won't have to worry any more if you're destroying your hearing. Here is what I propose. I'll ship it to the the first person that wants it. After they're done they'll ship it to the next person on the list, so on and so forth until it gets shipped back to me in the end. This is presuming that anybody is interested.
  11. It cost almost nothing to make. I bought the frame for $15. It was in horrible repair when I bought it. I learned how to apply gold foil in the old tradition of gilding to make it look fancy and shit - but it only cost about 8 more dollars to fix it. The hook was 5 dollars and the fabric was only $4. Also sorry for posting this in the wrong topic. I ask you to please look at my sig.
  12. This is my cheap ass DIY headphone rack. It really doesn't work all that well but I'm too lazy to think up and execute another one.
  13. ...And I didn't know he was another Aaron. I've only run across a few aarons in my life but in the past week I've had some interaction with 3 Aarons now. How funny.
  14. Is there another Aaron here besides me? I assume you weren't talking about this aaron.
  15. The other day I found a retardedly long book on contemporary art that I just started to read. It's a compilation of criticisms, artist's tracts on art along with a bunch of extremely obscure papers like Jackson Pollack's Guggenheim grant application. I'm only a few pieces in but I'm enjoying it tremendously.
  16. I can't believe that I watched that entire video.

    facial hair

I have the worst of both worlds when it comes to facial hair. I'm part native american so I can't grow a beard any denser than your average ball sack hair. What facial hair I do have is also really course causing it in-grow all the time.
  19. I'm thinking about it but I really suck. Everybody else on line is going to be all While I'm gonna be like and when i'm dead they're going to go all
  20. I spent too long thinking about contacting that dude on head-fi when he made his final price drop and added "make an offer" but I waited too long when I saw that your little wiener dog beat me to it.
  21. That's a pretty nice copy you found posty. That's one of the few faulkner books that I haven't read yet. Tell me how you like it.
  22. I just bought a hard leather case and a "best skin ever" for my ipod.
  23. Perhaps I'll see you at a meet some time...that is if I ever go to a meet. I've been into headphones for 5 years now and have never actually gone to a meet.
  24. Match Point Its been said a million times but it's the best woody allen movie since the 80's.
