Since most people here are proud Americans, I assume that no one is watching the Olympics The Opening Ceremonies were just phenomenal and watching Phelps do his thing is just amazing. or are we all waiting for the new football season to start?

I did a short comparison between the 1995-ish and the 2005-ish RS-1s and there was easily a discernible improvement between the two. There was another pair which was between the two and it sounded more like the 1995 version then the 2005 version.
  14. Hmm, that actually sounds really appealing. The vintage RS-1s are not as fast as the rest of the grado line up either and its "slowness" was something that I liked for some reason
  15. Well, hydro got the Denon and its been "lent" to me. The only other source I have to compare it to is the Accuphase but the denon holds up well. The highs could be improved and its not the most transparent dac in the world but overall I'm pretty happy with it

And my experience with the RS-1s are that older is better in every way. I heard the dark wood/gold lettering ones and they kick the newer button-ed ones asses

I think you should buy RS-1s and sell me your MS-2s
  18. Its just that the RS-2 sounded more like the 225 then the HF-1/RS-1 smooth warm dark sound (which is what I prefer) And I do like the 225s and I could definitely live with them but they're still missing a whole lot in the bass region. I know you had the 325i's before these. Obviously the high end is lacking compared to them but are they lacking in a way that they dont sound like a grado or they just have less treble then you want? I've been using the 414 pads almost since I got the 225s and I've heard the black 325 (woodied by nate) and it sounded good, a bit better then the 225s woodied.
  19. I borrowed the RS-2s for a while after I got my woodies and I dont think that the RS-2s were that much better then the 225s actually. and the HF-1s are like $400
