  1. What do you recommend building between this and the dynalo? My k401 feels neglected
  2. I stole some foam from worn out 007 pads, cut those in half and shoved both halves into the back of the 009. Seems to do the trick for me
  3. bdent.com
  4. Have you checked the copper thickness for bay area? I haven't seen an option to choose more than 1 oz from the times I've used them.
  5. I'm using Justin's sockets. I also have luvdunhill's KGBH which I assume uses something similar. I'll double check those connections.
  6. Thanks for reminding me I purchased that book during some o'reilly sale. He only mentions Greenlee as a supplier of these I've been bs-ing shapes by drilling holes to approximate things, then filing the rest out with a dremel. Step drill bit for XLR holes. I don't know about everyone else but I've been finding them pretty annoying to work with lately. I saw Spritzer's pics of a broken punch and I figured I'd give it a shot.
  7. Anyone know a good place to buy iec punches stateside? Are they easier to work with than "grinding it out" with a drill press?
  8. in the kgsshv psu can I get away with a 2W rating for the 15 ohm sense resistors? I was going to use some 3W-rated pulls from a busted supply but there's some soot and possibly cracking on the bodies
  9. What can go wrong at the socket, like solder joints or poor terminal connections?
  10. The phoenix contact blocks are nice to work with, Mouser 651-1729131 But the chinese ones on ebay are too cheap to not use.
  11. 10k should be fine if your source can handle it @Earspeakers re: Khozmo, I have no plans to use mine. I don't know if khozmo makes series versions now, but mine is a shunt attenuator from some years back. Caddock + vishay resistors
  12. Damn Birgir is selling a 701x series mk1, someone grab that I brought mine to work and there seems to be no 60hz hum when I use it with the Megatron...needs some more investigation
  13. I used an alpha pot and 2x tkd 601s. Have a khozmo 4ch as well that's not being used. Nate did you have to do anything special with yours as far as cleaning, dis/re-assembly, etc.? If you have a preamp you can also just use that in place of the pot, a la Kevin's original BH
  14. spritzer's alpha pots are hard to beat but there are many options if you want dual mono, like noble/tkd/alps black blah blah or relay attenuator (amb, twisted pear, gilmore audio)
  15. pass is making a headphone amplifier? that thing looks like a tank
  16. I think this isindeed the case, and there's some identification on the silkscreen
  17. Anyone have an appropriate part number for the servo cap? Most of the parts I've bought are too wide, and the leads are too thick. I'm making an order to Mouser for some BH stuff but I figured I'd polish this off while I'm at it.
  18. With the 3904s the amplifier board is current starved and the rails start to sag, to what value I can't remember
  19. I was able to use the KGST mini PSU @ 350V with kgsshv amplifier boards, with no modifications whatsoever. The one thing I noticed was that the DC offset tended to settle at -15.x V You can probably zero it out with a single resistor change
  20. I think there's a cuboid case out there in china where only one of the sides is a heatsink, this is probably ideal.
  21. teflon cmc 9 pin
  22. Is this for a full set or just the amplifier boards?
  23. if you're referring to the diyaudio to-92 heatsinks, you can still get them if you're willing to wait a few months
  24. stateside they are going for 1200 to 1500 so
  25. I'm not a fan of the clock generation but all the other features look solid. Nice possibilities with both buffered/unbuffered outputs.
