Now for something different...
Any of those should work. No BOM as we never do one and we just need schematics for P-P amps. Speaking of something different, here is something I've been working on as an attempt to burn off some of my surplus parts: It's a reworking of the Stax "A" circuit with a diff input. Really needs feedback but not enough gain...

New Oppo player for late 2012
I have dozens of PS3 rips (not done be me) and even though they are the wrong sample rate they sound very nice indeed.

The large heatsinks are causing the amp to drift so much. If it drifts once it's up to temp then you have a problem. I would not recommend trying to use the chassis for grounding or rather as a conductor. Much better to just star ground everything in the PSU with wires.

Get a MSB, they really love to upsample.

It is a filtered IEC so it can buzz but the transformer is a more likely cause. Mine has been running on a 2AT fuse for close to a year now with zero issues. Nothing wrong with using the amp on a 3.15AT on 117VAC then.

The Dynalo and KSA-5 are similar is many ways but that is a very good thing in my book. I wouldn't try to use this for speakers though as the amp was never intended to do that. The PSU will not like it one bit too. Huge thanks to Tom for his help on this and the reasons for me buying a HD-800 should be clear now. It should be quite cheap to build as all parts or subs are available but the electrolytic caps should add up quickly. This run balanced at +/-35V will be a beast to reckon with...

Stax SRM-T1 hot trafo over 70 Celsius degree
4mA seems about right but I'm with Nate here, the terminals on these transformers are open so they are easy to short. If something like that occurred then who knows what happened internally.

Flipped feedback loop but it has been fixed now.

If the mastering isn't messed up then yeah, high res all the way. Kevin just turns white if you even mention vinyl to him...

Koss ESP-950 Stax Recable
It's been some time since we last spoke about that but I'm not sure. It was the set that some idiot damaged and didn't own up to it.

With the HV there was no other alternative but to decrease the current with the onboard sinks. The extra headroom, CCS, better devices and better PSU makes up for that. Now place the amp on some good sinks and yeah, it gets much better.

Stax SRM-T1 hot trafo over 70 Celsius degree
Too much current through the tubes would be my guess.

The voltage doubler uses next to no current so it's a non-issue. If it did use any current then we'd quickly have to find new drivers for our phones. There is a reason why Stax uses 10nf caps in their multipliers which means they can't withstand any load. As for the boxes, I like the challenge of building amps into boxes that are generally a size too small. Proper grounding and just wiring in general becomes very important but this stuff keeps me interested. You should see the new "super-symmetry state of the art amp" (Kevin's joke... ) I'm working on. Just about as small as I can build something fully balanced with a regulated PSU without building it in layers in a custom box.

That transformer should not look like that so first things first, change the tubes as they are a likely culprit. Second, check the actual socket wiring on the Stax voltage selector as it might be wrong. The SRM-006t is pretty much identical to the SRM-T1 but here is the schematic since I have it. Not the best scan but it will do.

Koss ESP-950 Stax Recable
The contact is great if you tin the leads and then feed them through the plug to solder them in. They are a bit of a pain though.

There should be a huge warning sign about dealing with APS. Way too many people have had trouble dealing with him in the past year or two.

Bryston BHA1 Headphone Amp
It could be an attenuator issue. The Noble just could be a bit noisy or the balance control is acting up.

Koss ESP-950 Stax Recable
Cut the lip off the Amphenol plug and remove the center pin. Now insert it into a Neutrik XLR strain relief and top with some heatshrink: Works like a charm.

Hurricane Sandy: "Perfect Storm II?"
The infrastructure in the US is indeed quite poor. I was a bit shocked on my first visit to see external powerlines in built up areas... We've been suffering though a rather nasty storm here since Thursday with winds hitting 1. stage hurricane speeds and nearly double that in the worst gusts. Highest I've seen listed was 69m/s which is pretty intense but luckily that's not in the city. Some damage but nothing too dramatic even if the north of the country is buried in snow. Here is a video shot two blocks from the bakery and people everywhere. They didn't even cancel the huge music festival that was held in the many bars on that street....
