  1. I futzed around with that a while back. I couldn't get the save function to work, so I took a screencap.
  2. I have 3 pieces of McIntosh kit and one Dynaco that are all my senior by about 5 years. I've posted photos previously. One of these days I'm going to build a mono system around a Mac C22 Pre and MC-75 monoblock
  3. I, for one, like B&W speakers. Not all of them, mind. I have had a soft spot for the 302 for over a decade now, though I have never quite gotten around to owning a pair. The bigger B&Ws have a really good synergy with Krell boat anchor amps. The older single 15" woofer Nautilus speakers (the 801s?) a bit two ...Cerwin-Vega-esque for my taste, but in a brief audition I liked the newer ones. I'm also quite happy with my CDN-CNT center channel speaker. It's kinda funky looking, but it spits out dialog with great clarity. I'm dyslexic, and I have a much harder time with auditory processing of language than "normal" people. I watch a lot of old movies, and I appreciate how well the B&W works with low-fi source material. YMMV. I like pie.
  4. ^^ That is remarkably not-black.
  5. Nice. What is it for?
  6. Re: The "Ogre Load" pic that Stretch posted.
  7. Nothing I did today is as cool as what Craig did. Tonight I'm leaving for an event that goes until Sunday afternoon. I'm supposed to DJ at it ...at some point.
  8. Good luck, and I hope you get ample time to work with the 100-400L. Do you have a monopod?
  9. Locked myself out of my house... ...but I got my Macintop back!
  10. C41 process B&W film is a crap shoot. I can come out looking amazing, or it can be horrid. Unfortunately, the outcome is less affected by your skill at exposing it right, and more by the development process. I have shot quite a bit of Kodak BW400CN, below are some (mixed) results: Really good: Very bad: Both sets were taken with the same camera and lens, and developed by the same lab. At some point, the lab got some new staff, who are unbelievably incompetent. So bad that I don't use them any more. My only other comment on B&W film is that Tri-X is one of the most forgiving film stocks in the world. It has a huge exposure latitude, allowing the user to get some kind of image even in difficult circumstances. Most of my friends who shot old, manual cameras favor it for that reason.
