To put it delicately, today I nearly broke my fucking neck. I wanted to wire my Pico DAC into the pre on my 5.1 system, so I can use the Macintop as a source in the living room. I grabbed an antique wooden stand that used to hold up one of my Yamaha NS-1000s before I got the Unisounds. Brilliantly, I stood too far to one side, and it tipped. I went ass over tea kettle and landed on my back. Miraculously, I didn't injure anything. I'm doubly lucky, as my head landed right next to two 20 lb hand weights. My friend Pete is visiting and he saw the whole thing. Apparently I gave him quite a fright. After ascertaining that I was okay, he told me that I was (A) an idiot and ( exceedingly lucky.

I was working at the nightclub, taking pictures of a friend's lighting rig. I set my camera down on a table, and it got knocked over, and hit the ground lens-first, breaking the AF mechanism. I've got to mail it and my EF-S 17-85mm to Canon to be fixed. The repair costs will be plenty, of course.

I'm only watching the sodding thing because the Bauhaus are in it.

Nice. Probably the best price/performance deal in the entire Canon lineup. I own the original Mk I version which has a metal lens mount and distance window (because I am a nerd). Optically, it's identical to the Mk II. I get a way better hit rate of usable shots out of the 35mm F/2 (wish my copy wasn't broken \) but more great shots out of the 50mm.

^^^ I insist on knowing what lens(es) you used for the above. Especially on the bourbon shot.
