  1. The message you have entered contains clowns. That is unacceptable even in the context of Metaloclypse cosplay.
  2. I (or some other H-Cer) posted a link to the script a while back. The performance of this scene is pretty amusing.
  3. I was trying to build a headphone stand, but it didn't come out right. Maybe Steve can help.
  4. Failed to buy a stove or a center channel speaker. Did manage 3 other errands though.
  5. The EF 50mm F/1.8 Mk II is a cheap plastic toy. It is a "disposable lens" if you will. That said, it has less barrel distortion than the 50mm F/1.4. I own F/1.4 and while I don't love it, I use it all the time. The original Mk I 50mm F/1.8 is very similar in build quality to the 35mm F/2. It brings entirely too much on the used market, so personally I'd just buy the 50mm F/1.4 USM when you're ready to spend $350 on a lens. The 85mm F/1.8 is a great piece of glass. It has some CA (chromatic aberration - purple fringing) wide open, but other than that it is an excellent performer. You're going to be stopping it down a bit to gain back some depth of field, anyway. As long as you never use the 85mm F/1.2L USM Godzilla, you will always love the 85 F/1.8.
  6. This smiley is appropriate.
  7. I've never heard 9 or 11 Actives, but around here the 12L Actives are a known quantity (and that quantity is known to be good.) I'm unsure of the price difference between the 11s and the 12s, but I can't imagine it is earth-shattering. So if you are serious about getting Quad active monitors, why don't you get 12s, the ? Are there any head-casers who have heard the 12L Actives and not liked them?
  8. In terms of price/performance, the 35mm F/2 is the best lens in the entire EF lineup. It has better center sharpness than the $1000-more-expensive EF 35mm F/1.4L.
  9. Oh, I can play at this game too. Turntable Cat is watching you trainwreck. My friend Dave's cat Ozzie was "helping" me beatmatch on Dave's shiny new CDJ-2000s. For a moment he had his ear caught under the USB cord, so I snapped a pic of him (and gave up entirely on mixing the two tracks.) Shot with my 30D, 17-40L, 580EX speedlite with a diffuser. ...what, am I off topic in this thread or something?
  10. Today in WTF: $25,000 Holga - a set on Flickr
  11. SHIT, and I own a kickin' mono amp (McIntosh MC-75, restored last year). Damn you Reks, you and your ilk continue to make this the worst headphone site on the net. (But curiously, one of the best speaker sites.) Looks like I'm buying a speaker tomorrow...
  12. Failed utterly to get my glasses prescription filled. Still getting used to the idea of becoming a four-eyed freak. Shopped for electric ranges. Saw to decent models, both on sale. Is a flat top electric really worth a $100 premium? Gawked at the new Samsung and LG LCD TVs when I was supposed to be stove shopping. Saw a forlorn Paradigm center channel speaker on "plz take it" clearance for $50, which is less than the cost of the parts. I considered it, but I have absolutely no use for it. I might go back and buy it tomorrow anyway.
  13. I guess that depends what one stores in it.
  14. That avatar says "Excuse me, I believe you have my stapler shovel."
  15. High in orbit, in the Death Star, sippin' on gin and juice. Laid back (with my mind on the dark side and dark side on my mind)
  16. The message you have entered is too short. Lego my fiance!
  17. Error: Your post contains a non-regulation banana. That's what she said.
  18. Just wait until I start asking for help installing it.
  19. That's my next purchase, seeing as how my now 30-year-old stove, you know, had an electrical fire this morning.
  20. I pity the fool that says my message is too short.
