  1. Indeed. I actually "found them" months ago.
  2. Given that I don't see myself using a tube output stage on a future CDP, maybe I can get away with a 10k, although does that apply to the 4/6ch one too?
  3. Indeed.
  4. What is his system aside from the K1k + B22?
  5. Does anyone know what value pots you need for the beta 22 and the mini cubed, the beata 22 seems to say either 50k or 10k will work?
  6. Justa small point of clarification, when you say the weight is about 40 lbs, that's for 1 chasis or both? And how big are they?
  7. So what are the options, though limited?
  8. Is he somehow unable to have the standard orientation on those XLRs as well?
  9. Not really. [me=PFKMan23]stares at Earl's amps[/me]
  10. pot stickers
  11. wait till you get it optimized for bl7s as outputs.
  12. Then switch in your BX7s and see how you feel.
  13. Honestly, that's really hard question to answer, epecially becasue the BX7s are so neutral, so if you have a really lush gain tube like a RCA 6sn7gt, then it will sound lush, if you use a TS clear glass grey plate then well it will have better detail retrieval.
  14. Yay...
  15. Although I don't have the Dragon, I do have an amp that is tuned for the bl7s and other for the 6as7/6080 and I wouldn't necessarily call the 6bl7 extinct just quite yet.
  16. I've heard the GSX, B22, and dynamight, and while they are closer than a lot of designs, I wouldn't call any truly transparent.
  17. One of the big keys of the Maestro is a fairly extensive preamp. So while you could do a fairly good preamp within the Supra chasis, there are probably still some differences from a true maestro. That said, to me, the Singlepowers are transparent with respect to letting you hear your tubes. That assumes your amp is tuned that way. To me, adding stuff like a stepped attenuator, Paper in Oil caps, the Solen 3, etc... also move that away. That said I don't know that I would call any amps, including the ones that are purported to be neutral/transparent/whatever truly that at all. From what I've heard, they are all colored in some way shape or form. In some cases, they just happed to be colored in a direction that is favorable. But that's still colored.
  18. Unless he changes his mind, that's the name he decided on.
  19. [me=PFKMan23]adds postjack to kefka list[/me]
  20. Assuming he replies back to me
  21. wanna build one for me??
  22. I'm trying!! No reply yet though...
  23. Now if only I could get someone to make me a balanced mini cubed...
