  2. Spibelt It's become an essential accessory for my running duties. Super lightweight belt to put your keys, cellphones, etc. while running and you don't even notice it's there. I paid 20$ for mine at a local runners store, you can get it cheaper online.
  3. Third and final episode of BBC's Sherlock series (2010). I watched this show on the recommendation of a friend and I really enjoyed it, looking forward to more episodes. It's not as "slick" as big production American TV shows, but its got some sort of British charm and I thought the characters were memorable and the humo(u)r was excellent.
  4. Happy birthday Antonio!
  5. The sous vide steak definitely looks delicious, but the plate as a whole looks a bit bland. No side dishes? Kitchen stuff I want but have no money for: - Sous vide machine - Thermomix - New set of knives - Ice cream maker
  6. That's some serious troubleshooting.
  7. Downloading apps illegally is a major selling point. Not saying it's right or anything, but most people I know jailbreak their phones for this exact reason.
  8. Thanks for the wishes guys (except Dan), I'm already feeling quite well. Tomorrow is insurance call day and I need to bring the car to the garage to see what can be done. It's a 1998 Camry, so I figure the cost of repair will be higher than the value of the car. I'll have to see with my insurance company how it works.
  9. Yoobao case is pretty much what I wanted, I think we'll go with that one. The G-Form Portfolio looks heavy duty, but I really doubt my dad will attempt to do skateboarding or mountain climbing with his iPad. Thanks for the suggestions guys.
  10. You're right, that's what I meant to say.
  11. Yeah, overall it was a total waste of a beautiful and sunny Saturday afternoon, but shit happens. On the plus side, it could have been much worse, fortunately the front of my car absorbed most of the impact. And the doctor who treated me at emergency was a 20-something cutie with a beautiful smile.
  12. Spent the afternoon at emergency after getting into a pretty bad car crash. I'm alright, my neck was a bit stiff so they wanted to keep me under observation, but the x-rays and scan came out ok. The other guy was in bad shape though, I ran straight into his door on the driver's side. He tried to do a u-turn and never looked to see if there was a car coming, I didn't even have time to break (at around 50kmh/30mph). According to police report, the accident is all his fault and my insurances should cover everything, so that's all good. I sincerely hope the other driver is ok though.
  13. My dad just purchased an iPad 2 and he's looking for a case, ideally with screen and back protection, light, not too expensive. Any suggestions? I'm counting on Larry, who's our designated HC iPad case tester.

  16. According to many respected reviewers on Head-fi, headphones at 100 hours are still "green". Put at least 1000 hours of pink noise and come back for a report after that, we'll all be waiting with anticipation.
  17. I thought burn-in always improved how headphones sound, you must not have done the burn-in properly.
  18. My condolences, to you and your family.
  19. This review makes a good model for a generic amp review. The [amp] seems to be a very well balanced amp in every aspect of its sonic presentation. By this I mean its frequency presentation seems to be equally consistent throughout the entire spectrum from the very low bass all the way throughout the upper treble. This consistency gives the [amp] a very smooth, even and natural tonal balance. This well balanced tonal character gives the amp a smooth, almost liquid sense, a somewhat silky feel. Never is there a hint of artificial or electronic reproduction taking place. When I say silkiness and smoothness I do not mean to infer a lack of detail or leading edge blurriness but quite the contrary, there is plenty of inner detail and resolution. There is also an overall warmth to this amp but not too much, not overly present or in any way intrusive. This warmth does not seem to be a manifestation of any undue or excess mid bass emphasis, its just there in the presentation in a beneficial way rather than detracting and does not obscure the the amps detail or compromise definition. Personally I find this warmth pleasant, inviting and gratifying. The [amp] is at once dynamic and laid back. It delivers the dynamic emphasis required to give instruments the weight and impact needed for palpable realism and it does so without seeming to break a sweat. Dynamics are never constrained nor is there ever any sense of congestion. There is explosive dynamics when called for and yet fine inner detail and micro dynamics are not sacrificed at the expense of muscle. Its ability to deliver whatever power is needed is done in an effortless manner, never any sense that the [amp] is straining to get the job done. If an amp could have a demeanor then for the [amp] it would be confidence. The [amp] has the ability to unravel a complex sonic landscape with ease and confidence. Musical lines and rhythms are kept straight and coherent. Nothing is sonically tripping over itself or obscuring the detail of another instrument. Even in the most complex passages you can distinctly hear every instrument in detail. This is the consequence of the [amp]'s ability to resolve and present the smallest amounts of inner detail and micro dynamics. Instruments are clearly defined and focused and separated across the soundstage. Bass extension is deep and controlled with excellent definition, impact and tonality. Treble is extended and smooth without any sense of edginess or harshness. The slight overall warmth to the [amp] gives the midrange the seduction needed to draw you into the music and get you involved. Listening to the [amp] I never once thought I was listening to an amplifier. It is not an in your face kind of amplifier. It seems so well balanced in so many regards that it doesn't need to have any particular overbearing characteristics to give it its overall magic. It simply does its job in every area with confidence and respect and disappears from the sonic equation in an effortless way. Smooth and effortless are the words I kept mouthing when listening to the [amp].
