  1. No. First order is the only option. Typically active are LR2 at the best and usually higher orders, not better at all in terms of phase.
  2. Indeed. However, I've had enough Fi-Bars for two people, perhaps find another good supplement
  3. Meh, I cannot get it so it's dead to me.
  4. This. The Kuchan is top notch stuff. Perhaps Jim can try this with the Bluemen (sp?) eau-de-vie .. I want to get a white agricole. I saw the St. James in town recently, probably will grab it a some point, it's the only agricole I've seen here. The St. Clement XO is on the wish list as well, the VSOP makes a heck of a rum old fashioned..
  5. Needs hot water and a lemon peel!!! moar cocktails!
  6. Damn Al, that one is nice. I really like Benedictine though, so perhaps that is why it stuck a chord. Where is everyone else? More cocktails!
  7. Cheers Al! Did what I could do for the Monk's Revenge!
  8. Thats a nice one. I considered using Ransom, and I'm not sure what it would have been like, but I'm tempted. Personally, I'm glad I didn't use a dry gin.
  9. ATTENTION! 2 oz gin ¼ oz absinthe ¼ oz dry vermouth ¼ oz violette 2 dashes Regan’s orange bitters stir with ice strain into an iced cocktail glass garnish with a lemon twist
  10. Biamping does nothing to change the phase of a crossover.
  11. If amps sound different, then biamping must make a difference. For example, using a tube amp on a tweeter and solid state amp on the woofer in a two way.
  12. There aren't any compensation caps. You want the bypass caps to be .1uF ceramic, probably np0/c0g.
  13. you can always petition for a cocktail only thread
  14. You might consider longer landings for the relays, if it's even possible. That greatly aids assembly.

    Cool Stuff

We have had luck with the North Carolina direct approach. You have to know what you want, but once you do you can save significantly. It might involve a trip out the first time, but it didn't in our cases. Has anyone else gone this route? We picked up a book on this and it had all the major outlets and what lines they carried.
  16. 2 please, boards only (or boards plus relays)
  17. The Coffee Cocktail 1 oz brandy 1 egg, whole 3 oz ruby port 1 tsp sugar Pour brandy into iced shaker. Add egg. Add port and sugar. Shake. Strain. Dust with freshly grated nutmeg.
  18. Despite the ingredients, Al's description is right on. Another one of those transforming cocktails.
  19. It's very tasty. The two cocoa Drillauds products are also exceptionally good, if anyone is looking for recommendations.
  20. Chatham Hotel Special 1.5 oz brandy 0.5 oz ruby port 0.5 oz cream 0.125 oz dark Creme de Cacao Shake and strain. Definitely the best "desert" cocktail I've had!
  21. Really? I typically pay 2-3x for four later boards, granted in smallish quantities..
  22. ... What parts were those that were recommended?
  23. Tom and Jerry 1 egg, separated 1 tsp caster sugar 1 oz dark Jamaican rum 1/4 tsp ground allspice 1/4 oz brandy Hot Water Beat the yolk with sugar, rum, and allspice until thick. Beat the egg white until stiff. Fold together and add to a warm mug. Fill mug 3/4 with hot water. Lightly stir. Add brandy. Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg.
  24. Oh? Shouldn't he be upgrading from these so I can upgrade from the A2s I bought from him?
