I think you had the right idea, and yeah the question mark would have helped a bit Many people are unwilling to accept anything that isn't right out of a certain canon, including things like cadenza choice... Those people are annoying, so just ignore them and listen to the sweet, sweet music. It's not what's on the piece of paper or a simulation that's important it's what the artist chooses to do!

I have tried 45%. I'm not going to reuse from Forgotten, as if the drink is in two places it's probably worth having twice. That being said, I am free to take liberties in this case ifthe mood strikes Al, yeah that looks nice! The Campari-Rum and Campari-Tequila interactions do indeed work. I'll give that one a go!

That's a yummy one Jim. It might be fun to try a blood orange... Goes with the name at least. Getting there on Anvil and having a lot of fun

Fourth Degree Cocktail 3/4 oz gin 3/4 oz Italian vermouth 3/4 oz French vermouth 1/2 tsp absinthe Stir and serve with a lemon twist! I'm really liking Plymouth, it's going to stay alongside the Tanq.
-
Continuing with Anvil.... Darb Cocktail 2/3 oz Plymouth gin 2/3 oz Dolin Blanc 2/3 oz R&W Apricot Orchard liqueur 1/4 tsp lemon juice Stir and strain.
-
Both are nice. I bet the Casa Noble Anjeo would be even better. In the second, believe it or not the rum takes a back seat compared to the other items, but it works to balance out the forward rum. Try them in small amounts

Satan's Whiskers (Curled) Savoy 1/2 oz Carpano Antica 1/2 oz Dolin Blanc 1/2 oz Plymouth Gin 1/2 oz Orange Juice 1/4 oz Cointreau 1/8 oz Stirring's Blood Orange Bitters Shake well and strain into cocktail glass.

Continuing with Anvil... a Plymouth, Carpano Antica and Campari Negroni. Nice! Next, this... with equal parts. Don't tell Duggeh:

I think they will grow on you

After the Jasmine, which contains gin, Campari, Cointreau, and lemon and being underwhelmed I tried a slight twist. (Not At All A) Jasmine 1.5 oz Reposado Tequila 0.75 oz lime juice 0.5 tbsp Cointreau 0.5 tbsp Campari Shake with ice and double strain. I think it's nice. Maybe add a bit of simple syrup depending on your preferences. Edit: nah, it's just right
-
yup, the Int'l. anyways, carry on, just passing through here
-
WAT? Edit: ah Justin commented. Anyways, that's just wrong. That's why many violinists use the so called Blue version, as it contains the manuscripts for the S&P which are a handy reference. As Justin mentioned, there are a multitude of liberties taken here, including bowing, tempo, dynamics and appogetera.

Jim, nice! That amaro is one I want to pick up, but haven't found a good source for :/ Nice drinks all around! Shelly, I think the S&C will grow on you. I have a feeling you'll have the same reaction times two to the W&N

Maiden’s Prayer Cocktail No. 1 (Savoy) 1/8 Orange Juice. (1/4 oz fresh Orange Juice) 1/8 Lemon Juice. (1/4 oz fresh Lemon Juice) 3/8 Cointreau. (3/4 oz Cointreau) 3/8 Dry Gin. (3/4 oz Plymouth Gin) Shake and double strain. I prefer this one to the above. It's rather nicely balanced, IMHO.
-
Paradise Cocktail (Savoy) 1 Dash Lemon Juice (1/8 oz) 1/4 Orange Juice. (1/2 oz fresh Orange Juice) 1/2 Gin. (1 oz Plymouth) 1/4 Apricot Brandy. (1/2 oz Rothman and Winter Orchard Apricot)
-
Chrysanthemum Cocktail (modified) 3 dashes Absinthe (1 tsp) 1/3 Benedictine (1 oz) 2/3 French Vermouth (2 oz. Cocchi Americano) Cut a long orange peel directly over a cocktail glass to ensure oil is retained. Stir ingredients with ice. Strain and garnish with said orange peel. Yes, artistic license, but no surprise it's very yummy, IMHO!

Blood and Sand 0.75 oz scotch 0.75 oz Itailan vermouth 0.75 oz Heering 0.75 oz orange juice, fresh Shake over ice and double strain. This is my second time around to this one, and Dolin Rouge works better than Carpano Antica. It's much more balanced now.

Reks, I'm going to go out on a limb here. The Clement Creole Shrubb is much better than Gran Gala. I'm just saying....
-
The 375 ml of Tanq runs about $13. Blue Coat is double that. I think that would be a good first two choices.
-
Pegu Club 1.5 oz Plymouth 1 dash orange bitters 1 dash angostura bitters 0.75 oz Creole Shrubb 1 tsp lime juice Still a fav. Really liking the Plymouth.
-
I'd vote for Tanqueray. You can get it in a 375 mL so it ends up not being a huge investment. I still think it is "the dry gin". YMMV, as I'm still a young apprentice in this art.
-
Agreed. Have you tried the Creole or this one, which is between the Creole and the above: NIRVANA COCKTAIL 2 oz Rittenhouse 100 proof bonded rye 1 oz Amer Picon ¼ oz maraschino liqueur ¼ oz Benedictine stir and strain garnish with orange twist if desired
-
Pink Gin 3 oz Plymouth 3/8 tsp angostura Shake (stir) and serve So, I didn't care for this one the first time around. Dr. Cocktail goes on and on about the importance of Plymouth. Well, he's right. This is a completely different drink. Nice!

Thanks Al! The ginger and botanicals from the Fentimans perhaps serves similar purpose here, because this really works! This and the S&C old fashioned should be on a certain person's try list Oh and you all need to try the Savoy Manhatten No. 1
