  1. Again, I used 1 cup ice. I'm not sure the recommended ice to booze ratio for these types of drinks...
  2. Shelly, I'd think that wouldnt work. The result would be too bitter.
  3. Authentic Austin Sweet and Sour Mix 1/2 tsp Chef Adam Gonzales Sweet and Sour Mix from the Live Music Capital of the World 1 oz water Stir. Makes 1 oz mix The Fogcutter 1 oz white rum 1/2 oz gin 1/2 oz brandy 1/2 oz sweet and sour mix 1/4 oz simple syrup Combine with ice and blend. Float cherry brandy on top (added two dashes of cherry bitters to the blender and garnished with a cherry)
  4. Hm, I'm not sure I'd agree 100%, although I see what you're getting at. I'd say there is a clear division in this case. The transport is responsible for digital transmission and the DAC for digital reception. The assumption is that there is a two box solution here and a cable between the two devices. But yes I see your point about jitter, so carry on
  5. Wouldn't it be more interesting to perform the same test with two different transports, or am I missing the point of this thread?!
  6. Didn't you get banned recently from HF? What happened?
  7. I'm going to attempt to make some bread. I figured I'd start off with the simplest approach possible with something that uses my new dutch oven. I'm going to try this: http://www.nytimes.com/2006/11/08/dining/081mrex.html?_r=1
  8. Ok, 1.5 oz Plantation and 0.5 oz Wrey and Nephew overproof is verrrry nice. My grenadine is probably very similar. It's tart and acidic.
  9. Actually, going to try a fourth with overproof rum...
  10. Saint Croix Rum Fix So, I tried this three times. First went down the drain, second was what the author recommended, and third IMHO is the best. Listed in this order below: 2 oz rum (Cruzan Black Strap, Cruzan Estate Dark, Plantation Grande Reserve) 0.5 oz homemade pineapple syrup Juice of 1/2 a lemon 2 cubes cane sugar, 2 cubes cane sugar, 2 tsp white sugar Combine and stir to devolve. Serve on crushed ice.
  11. I can't say I like the secret...
  12. Well, that's one way to prevent people importing and switching the voltage...
  13. The Secret Cocktail Per Jim's recipe above
  14. Made another with 1/4 the grenadine and I like it better. ymmv of course.
  15. Jack Rose Per Jim's recipe but with Meyer lemons. Acidic, but nice!
  16. 1 week to go on the Picon clone: Note a couple pieces of the left over cura
  17. Nice rum! I just bought some Applejack and some Blackstrap.
  18. Nice! On that note, got the two de Beriot pieces and the Concerto seems easier. Wait, didn't you say that? Anyways, also got some Salchow rosin that I might just prefer over my previous Guilliume rosin.
  19. Meh on the Bebbo..
  20. The Bebbo Cocktail 1.5 oz gin 1 oz lemon juice 0.5 oz honey 2 tsp juiced orange Stir without ice (yup missed that the first time, heating the honey the second time) until honey dissolves then add ice and shake. Strain and serve with a cherry.
  21. Making some pineapple syrup:
