  1. I decided to go with the Sunfire HRS-10. I used to drool over the Sunfire brand back in the day, so it's a bit nostalgic. Still considering the center channel, looking for opinions there
  2. Finished up my data center closet shelf. Most of the work is hidden behind my UPS, but basically coax, Ethernet and power in a 2-gang wall plate.
  3. Jeff, you would fit right into the Chinese bike culture with those mitts
  4. Mostly to mess with@swt61
  5. I use Octave. - the et. al.
  6. What is that felty thing on the woofer called? Some sort of mass loading?
  7. I can't see the model on your pictures, but if it's the UFW-10 it's 13.5" H x 13.25" W x 13" D which would be perfect.
  8. There is no way I can bring two into the house. So, I would say either give the pair to Nate, or if he wants a single we can split them I would think finding a matching single down the road would be tough. What are the dimensions?
  9. Sorry, that was vague - $500 for the center channel. The price for the subwoofer would be in the price range of the three listed above. I think I will avoid DIY for the subwoofer. The center channel might be a necessity.
  10. Looking for a recommendation for the home theater: Subwoofer - not rear ported, prefer sealed or front firing passive radiator - sensitive on size. Would like depth around 14" - will be placed in a corner - small preference for white or gloss black Options: - New emotiva subs are just a hair too big - SVS SB-1000 - Sunfire SDS-10 - Elac S10EQ Center - Max width 19" - no rear ports, sealed or front firing as it will be in a cabinet - not worried about dreaded matching, will be operating as "large center" or "small L/R" Options: - Wanted Dynaudio Excite or Emotiva, but too wide - Used is fine, looking around $500 range Thanks for the researchers out there!
  11. Something nearby Q13 is generating heat? If the voltage drop across the resistors is the same, they should share the same current.
  12. He wants your digits man.
  13. If you look very closely at the picture, he manufacturer agrees. It's my wife who had to be reckoned with. In fact, if you look at some of the Amazon Q&A for wall outlets this seems to be a popular question "Can these be installed the "right" way"
  14. I did skimp on the $200 Furutech outlet covers... I upgraded to the $0.40 vinyl over the $0.20 plastic covers instead.
  15. I thought my numbering scheme was infallible! Well, in my head at least it is. After all these years I just don't understand why people don't build LED-based CCSes on a breadboard, use a pot to dial in the current and buy the resistor to match the LED. If I had to count the posts of people looking for specific LEDs...... /rant off (not really, still on. Don't be that guy!)
  16. Upgraded outlets to let the basses through. At least the plugs stay plugged in now There needs to be Decora-style versions, seriously so they can match my other outlets. Srsly.
  17. Decca on DG? A bit confused about that, but...
  18. I think the Rega P3 (or the newer P3-24) on the used market is one of the better values in Audio.
  19. I added some LEDs to my phono stage. I used LM317 in the spirit of the original Pass Xono. Wanted something subtle and channeled Nate a bit on hatred of bright blue LEDs
  20. It's tough even with an air station to get the heat pad optimally soldered
  21. It seems to sound better. That is all there is to follow
