Ipod Touch / Iphone
Got the Kindle"s Touch apln. Like many here and elsewhere have mentioned, rotation and customizable fonts and backgrounds would be nice. Should not be hard to get in. Otherwise the simplicity is a bonus. And the instant gratification part is the hook.

question about sony qualia 010
If you don't like the SA5000, it's very likely you'd not like the 010. I agree with everyone else that recommends listening to these headphones first.

PS-1s for sale on the 'Bay
I think he is probably amused by the fact of the "weird" phenomenon of people paying exorbitant prices for them. For a single pair of headphones, I think it is notable in their books, but in terms of gross income, should not be a big deal, even 10 X $4k, IMO...

North Star M192 DAC&Transport vs. Audio Aero Prima MKII 24/192
I would not call it aggressive either. It has a very nice balance. I mentioned this before, compared to the Burmester 006, it lacks extension on both fronts but in terms of soundstaging (music presentation, layering, 3D, etc) it was no slouch! I have never heard the mkI.

PS-1s for sale on the 'Bay
That price is just beyond insane. Honestly, I am pretty indifferent to the whole PS1 high pricing phenomenon because I've never liked the headphone. Too bass heavy for my taste and also too physically heavy on itself. After 15 min I was too aware of the weight of the headphone for comfort...

How to deal with extreme lowball offers on Craigslist?
First, don't take it personally. Second, I would just reply with "my lowest price at this point would be XXX, thanks!" I've gotten low ball offers on items, and after sending my message with my lowest, I've sold stuff. Sometimes an offer on your low limit can be the start of a negotiation. In general, it all depends on how patient you are or if the party is truly interested. Also it depends on how abundant the item is in the market.

Pro-ject RM-5 SE
[quote The one small inconvenience is that to play 45s you have to take the platter off and move the belt onto a different wheel, but that takes like 5 seconds and is much easier than it sounds.

Cambridge Audio DacMagic -- $400, balanced.
I have not heard the MkI but the MkII sounds very good (Tkam's). Good frequency range, and very good soundstage. Heck, I did a side-by-side it to the burmi 006 DAC and yes, the burmi is better in all respects, but the northstar is no slouch, specially in soundstaging. I used the XLR and the BelCanto CD2 as transport for both. I am not going to keep it as I decided to not assemble that other system (Bel Canto CD2/to a DAC), in other words I already put the transport up for sale on A'gon. So let me know if you are interested in the DAC. I'd let it go for $950 shipped!
