    Audeze LCD-2

a lot of circuits invert anyway. the pico slim is an inverting amp. meier's portables are as well. so are a huge # of headphone tube amps. same thing right?
  6. the thumbwheel volume pot of the HM-801 can't be bypassed or used for another purpose so that's not possible
  7. comparisons like this always remind me of the popular "even my wife agrees how much better it sounds". it would be a good test if you just handed someone the HM-801, and almost anyone who doesn't follow Head-Fi will believe it is a cheap, bulky iPod...see what kind of impressions they have then if you really want to get a second opinion. maybe you did this, but i think most of the time these tests go something like..."here, try this out...tell me if you think its way better than an ipod"
  8. your answer is: it's proprietary
  9. email isnt working but yes the low gain is 1. i do this on all GS-1s now since IEMs have become popular.

  13. my building doesnt have insulation. i noticed this when they drilled through the walls to install the new HVAC. it's brick and cinderblock, dont see anything inbetween. but i am also partially underground which helps

HeadAmp Audio Electronics it's alanis morisette (it's a website that shows you what a site would have looked like on Geocities in 1996)
  22. now with leather case...copied from HF thread: I didn't intend to announce this until all Pico Slims had shipped, but as communication could become more difficult in the future, here it is. When I had the custom leather case made for the Pico Slim, I also had one made for the regular Pico Amp/DAC/DAC-Amp. They have been sitting here for months so might as well post about it now... A lot better than the leather bag that comes with the Pico. That leather bag will continue to be included with the Pico, this case will be an extra item Pricing: $15 shipped in USA $18 shipped International Will post an order link another day. These will be packed/shipped by a third party ONCE PER WEEK.
  23. and i didn't even have to pay for it (joys of renting). too bad they didn't install it 5 years ago! total installation cost, probably close to 1 year's rent
  24. whatever i want them to be, but i find the real temps are about 3-5F warmer (for AC) or colder (for heat) than the setting I choose. this may be because the temperature sensor is on the top of each unit instead of in the middle of the room if i ever built a house i would want these. too many floors and rooms and it wouldn't be practical though. you also need good insulation and doors/windows because it's not going to get hallways and bathrooms
