  2. Be just like the Cool Kids, with their fancy Vinyl. "Why would anyone buy vinyl in this day and age?" "To be really cool," says Mark Wadhwa, one half of the pair behind the Vinyl Factory, which in 2003 rescued the EMI vinyl pressing plant in Hayes from closure. "Everyone can download. If you've got a vinyl record you're different." Vinyl: The business duo who believe it's got a big part to play in music's future - Telegraph

  5. ^^^ I think the point is, that if you have a USB DAC that uses a correctly implemented asynchronous mode (the USB Audio standard uses isochronous transfer in one of three modes: synchronous, adaptive, or asynchronous) Then you have removed the timing part of the equation - or made it irrelevant. That just leaves the data part, which for a digital cable can be either working, or broken (fail!), there is no better or worse to it. But since when has use of a decent protocol to overcome the limitations of physical medium stopped people from selling unnecessary solutions to people with more money than sense. Denon USA | AK-DL1

Hobbit - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia "Hobbits are fond of an unadventurous bucolic life of farming, eating, and socializing. They enjoy at least seven meals a day, when they can get them - breakfast, second breakfast, elevenses, luncheon, afternoon tea, dinner and, later in the evening, supper."
  13. If I may speak for Duggeh for a moment.. Who would have thought that the answer to such a simple question as "what do you call a given meal?" could be a social signifier? As ever, the internet explains it better than I could. Tea, Dinner or Supper And for the official BBC take on the matter BBC World Service | Learning English | Ask about English Best quote from this Yahoo Answer What does "Lunch", "Dinner" and "Tea", "Supper" to british? - Yahoo! 22. Oz and James Drink to Britain The odd couple - the self-proclaimed wine ponce Oz Clarke and the scruffy petrolhead James May - set off on an extended pub crawl around Britain, driving a Rolls-Royce Corniche convertible and towing a caravan behind them. Their purpose “is to find the drinks that speak to modern Britain”. Yeah, right. At first, May is reluctant to make a fuss about beer. “It's like intellectualising sausages,” he says. “It's a simple drink for people who want to get on with something useful.” But after a few pints, he's up for anything, comparing the hoppy quality of a beer to “the sweetness of a nymph being chased by a Viking of bitterness”. As always with these two, their enjoyment is contagious.
  23. Oh dear, so much for all those no new gear in 2009 resolutions. Yet another reason to add to the long list of reasons to attend CanJam 2009. Who will be the first to acquire a pair in the Bay Area, and when will the first HD800 Enabled meet be? Inquiring minds want to know!
  24. Happy Birthday. Have a good one.
