Thats it in a nutshell, for me. I was using it at the office. Some days I can listen to music for hours, but more often than not I get interrupted by this or that, and only get in maybe 2-3 hours of music.

I sold it based out of stupidity and the need for cash.

Think of it as the Bose crowd. Maybe that helps.

Fixed some scientist big-wig's PowerPoint presentation to display correctly. Its funny, you get all these PhD/MDs/etc, and half of them don't seem to understand that they need to cite their sources for images. We have people turning in images from Google Image Search with no info at all. Isn't this basic common knowledge they teach in grade school? what the hell.

I dont know. They could forgo the preamp function of the dac3 and maybe some of the inputs. It may not be that big of a difference. The inside of the dac3 is basically 3 boards and 2 blue power supplies (elpac? I dont know the name). The dac chip sounds like it is different, but the output stages may not be that radically different. Just speculation, obviously. I have some photos of the dac3 somewhere, but I forget where. I cant seem to find a pic of the backside of the ultradock, so at this point there's no way to know.

They use the same shape/size as the DAC3, so I figure its probably pretty similar on the inside, except with the special input crap. It could basically just be an updated dac3.

I've debated getting a second one at the original $500 price, to keep offsite at work. This is just too much temptation
