Then I just got pro bias Lambdas for $250

So..I just got my Lambdas in today and they say Professional on the top of the housing... Does that mean they're pro bias and the seller just didn't know it?

Maybe I'll have to give it another shot. I haven't had it since probably junior high now that I really think about it. CompUSA always sold it back when I bought it.

I didn't even know they made bawls in a can. I haven't had that in a few years...it always felt like so I was spending way too much money for a drink.

I want all of those records..I think I'm going to order that Neko Case album right now actually. I got two Talking Heads albums (Stop Making Sense and Little Creatures) and a Wish You Were Here record for $15 shipped. Not bad.

I just picked up some Lambdas at a decent price so I'll be looking out for a SRM-1 MK2 to go with it. Do they come up very often? Also, Finally I get to hear for myself what postjack has been talking about.

I got a ticket Postjack - Did Glenn Kotche do the ridiculous drum solo right on top of Via Chicago at the show you went to? That was definitely my favorite part of the show. Also, Nels Cline and the really young guitar player (on they right of the stage at the show here) did this sweet guitar battle thing. Nels Cline is absolutely ridiculous. He's so good Also, they played 4 Woody Guthrie songs since he's from Oklahoma... it was kinda cool I guess.

I'm getting into that venue one way or the other. I can't miss this show!!!

Oh man.. talking about it gets me even more excited. My friend even requested Radio Cure on their site (my favorite Wilco song). If I don't get a ticket...I might destroy the city of Tulsa

WILCO!!! I ended up not getting my ticket for it like I was supposed to If I drive to Tulsa and don't find someone selling a ticket it will be a sad day.

Well, I just made an ebay purchase Stax SR-Gammas with a SRD-6 "energizer"(?). The seller uploaded the wrong pictures for the auction and the picture was of SR-3s so no one bid. I ended up getting them for $117 + shipping. Good deal? I hope they sound awesome... I miss stax.

Now that I have a speaker amp, my stax options have opened up quite a bit I think. Anything to keep a look out for? I really miss those babystax and need a full size replacement without spending tons of money

I mean.. I did good in school. If I could pick now though, I would have done GREAT in school and not played high school ball (team was a bunch of tools). Baseball was awesome until after 15 years old. 15 year old nationals was the peak of fun and then it was never as good. School teams were never close to as good as my travel teams.

I just wish I would have focused more on school... especially in high school. It wasn't an bad time though (until high school ball).

Yeah.. I feel like I wasted so much of my life when I think about that.

Also, that doesn't apply to every single track. That's how it is with most tracks though. There are a few where that would hurt my ears but with most of my music, I'm pretty comfortable listening at max volume. On quieter recordings (Feist), it's really not even loud enough.

That's what I would have thought... but Sextetts on the CK2III at max volume is just a little above my normal listening level (which is average to loud). It's a lot better than no amp, but I was really surprised at how the CK2III drove the Sextetts. I only have one pair of headphones right now so options are limited... Just the amount of power changed the Sextetts so much... it's hard to compare the amps.

I would like active speakers like the A5 I don't want to lose this amp! The headphone output is so much more powerful than my CK2III. Sextetts sound so much better now that they finally have power. So, I think I'll just stick with getting passive bookshelf speakers but I'm going to do that after this marathon of concerts passes and I have more cash and an easier schedule.

This is a cool thread.. I'm going to be doing the same thing when I get a laptop and have been looking at this same topic. I think I'm just going to have a USB powered external drive > laptop > aliendac/mini^3 in a single case. I don't really have the budget for most of these portable setups (and I don't even comprehend these cell phone setups). Edit: That's actually going to be my entire digital setup since I do most of my listening via records now

Are you just going to be getting the amp portion of the Pico?
