They could always stop trying to make the damn thing 0.00004mm thinner, shove the bigger camera in there and fill the rest of the space with moar battery. Getting rid of the stupid curved back would help too, they should unify on the iPhone 4 case and give me the 20 hour video playback I want. And make it $200 for the 64gig version... And a free nano touch.

Pity it doesn't have a USB as well, that would be useful.

For 250 I wouldn't be expecting the earth but it will definitely do for what I want it for. At that price level I'm not gonna get picky and it should be pretty close to the ideal ortho amp on a budget. I've never heard the Ed so no clue which would be better.

I think I might still get an Asgard so I have a little ss amp to bang around. It'll be nice on my side table where I don't have much room and it'll make wifey happy not seeing a big amp take up half the room.

So far so good. Were getting good signal strength everywhere and it hasn't pooped out yet, though it does run hot compared to the other routers I've come across, also a lot heavier. One oddity, I couldn't get my hdd to be recognized with the AE, if I connect it to my WD WINTV live that's attached to the Ae it's fine *shrugs* All in all, not too shabby. I have the mini plugged into the AE and i turned off the 'G' airport on the old mini and it runs my vnc quite well via iPad. Nice and snappy, even playing flash video. I'll probably get a USB N stick later for it.

Saw that folio case at the mac store yesterday when I got the AE. Didn't take a close look at it though as it was behind the counter on a shelf.

I put in an airport extreme yesterday as the WRT54G and Belkin Play routers were crappy with range and holding a signal. Fingers crossed the extreme will do a better job.

just as well you have the motorhome, you'd never cram all that in the atom! I just bought an airport extreme which I hope will be less a piece of crap than the POS Belkin router. If weight is anything to go by, the airport will be at least 3x better.

nope, for whatever reason the only thing either mouse or trackpad can do is a left click in the top left corner, can't actually move the pointers on screen. I've got 4 or 5 different VNC progs and none of them want to allow mouse movement or gestures. Different servers too. Logmein, iteleport, realVNC etc.. No idea why none of them will let me mouse.

bah, already updated it to 4.whatever... The moosepad of choice on the couch is the couch. I just need to find some way of allowing mouse/trackpad input on the mac mini when it's in a VNC session so I can mouse as normal and use the ipad as a viewer for ideal slobbing.

yeah, the new room we've been dumped in at work is also wifi-less. My old office got good reception, down here... nada!

Hmm, wish there was some way to use my moose or trackpads while using the Ipad VNC. It would make my couch slobbing even more slobbish.

So it looks like there will be a crack at the Seattle meet raffle in October so I'll have the chance to hear/win one.

Personally I don't think the LCD is particularly hard to drive or drive well. People are getting way too anal as usual.

I've been using the VM2 for years... awesomest mouse ever for comfort. Sadly they stopped making the lefty version a while back, just as well I have two!

I can't say I've ever found them in the least fatiguing sonically. Smooth as a babys bottom that has been spit shined by a marine drill sergeant. They are a little dark sounding but not in a bad way IMO. I think Larrys ears are broken and need to go to the shop for repair
