I'd imagine even back in the day the O2 was more than $500 Anyway, it comes with a small transfo box so I'm guessing SR-5 too. No idea what the other one is, apparently also either a 'stat or electret from his very vague description. If he's had them and not used them long enough to forget what brand they are, I'm guessing pretty old.

Well it looks like I may have scored a Stax mystery phone from a guy at a shop I go to who said he bought it years ago for over $500 at the time. It's not a Lambda, he said it's a big round thing but can't recall. Also another set of something else he also can't recall what it is. He said he hasn't used them in years so I may as well have them... for free! Should be interesting whatever they are. I'm not gonna look gift horses in the mouth. Currently he uses his Grados and Senn 650.

Heh, I actually like them quite a bit, they're nice and smooth. Surprisingly good bass for a little speaker too, pity that Beyer stopped developing a potential Stax beater. They do need some cosmetic work though.

I swapped them for my Lambda which I was never listening to. It's going to get a makeover of course and I need to find a cable for them to replace that messy thing there now
