No, it's more than that. Overkill in the amplification also allows for more headroom, and more linearity and less distortion at normal listening levels. But yeah, there's probably a certain amount of "let's see what this baby can do" to it, too.

She'll be fine even if she does have to get a cast -- she's young enough and it was caught early enough that it should heal properly, and there's always the story to come out of it. You just need to teach her the fine art of story-telling. Well wishes all the same.
