  1. Rodrigo y Gabriella y C.U.B.A., Area 52 ...thinking of putting on some Hybrid next, I loves me some Hybrid.
  2. $8,000 is not totaled? What the L do you drive? I think my Suzuki went under $8,000 as soon as I drove it off the lot, and that's the most valuable car I've owned in over a decade, going on two. Sorry, I need to remind myself that this is not always about me me me me me.
  3. I actually know a Mormon whose first marriage did not work out, and the second one is still going strong, so if he were to add to this thread, it would have been +15+24.
  4. I was thinking this and thought that maybe some rubber grommets or foam might help the bottoming out part. That said, maybe figure something out that sends him a little electrical shock if he hits it too hard. My office would drive you crazy, not only are people noisy with their keyboards, they're noisy with their mouths. "Why is the system Sooooo Slooooooow!" etc. Thankfully, it's only once a week.
  5. I like Focal and Dali because they usually have something good at most price points, so look at those.
  6. I think they were just using the Stax amp as a stand -- I don't see the plug coming out from either "side", and (since I own one, I know that) it would. Red herring. That said, I do not know what is wrong with the picture. Slightly out of focus? Not enough bokeh?
  7. (makes a note of it)
  8. That would be wise. Also, very, very, very hard. I'm not saying I'm one of those people...but I'm not not one of those people. +1 for movies in MRI's! Buried would be good...uh, no it wouldn't.
  9. So I went looking for "santa facepalm", and for some reason was drawn to try to figure out what was going on in this thread. I lollered, these people are almost as obnoxious to each other as we are. "I was under the impression you havent seen [lady parts] in awhile" is their "because you touch yourself at night".
  10. I was just wondering in case I was ever in the neighborhood...
  11. And you probably have that password protected, don't you?
  12. That's outstanding.
  13. Yeezh, Haj.
  14. 306+7=313 We've now been "just friends" longer than we knew each other before the divorce (courting + marriage). I actually think cohabitation is the hard part, but that's "...with me".
  15. Of Rodriguez y Gabriela? (wanders off to track down) EDIT: Uh, no...that would be Rodrigo, not -uez.
  16. I had an MRI once -- I don't think I could have gotten out without the spinning part taking me out, it just plain felt dangerous. I presume you all were behind some sort of MRI-transparent but safe-enough-feeling material? I wasn't.
  17. More audience members knew the words?
  18. Sherlock -- a friend of mine fell in love with Billie Piper/Dr. Who, and then wrote me an email whose entire contents were praising Steve Moffat, and...well, he's right, everything he touches is brilliant. It's too bad I now can't picture Cumberbatch playing anything other than that very quirky Holmes, even though I've seen him in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. Be curious to see him in Star Trek 2. So now I'm alternating between so many shows, I've lost count: Sherlock True Blood Dr. Who Arrested Development Archer Homeland Torchwood Will probably start: Coupling Chalk Still need to start watching: Dexter Luther Louie Breaking Bad Game of Thrones Six Feet Under Falling Skies Walking Dead Ongoing: Castle Community
  19. Spirit of Talk Talk -- quite possibly the best tribute album I've ever heard, but probably should hear first before buying, because it's not as varied as any other various artists album I've heard. They very carefully stayed towards the more sombre side of Talk Talk, which is made all the more obvious from the bonus tracks.
  20. I don't know, I wouldn't mind hearing him do that Korea cheer song he did for the 2012 olympics, "Korea", or whatever it's called. Envying Al right now. I kind of really dig Psy.
  21. Peter Gabriel is awesome live. Congratses and good-on-youses to everyone else.
  22. You mean, besides the fact that it sounds like nothing else ever or since? It is the musical equivalent of Pluto. Or perhaps Haley's Comet is a better analogy. Me: My Bloody Valentine, Loveless -- I have to admit, I haven't listened to this in a few years, so am listening to it afresh. Yes, there's nothing new there -- in terms of individual elements -- great raucous distorted guitars, wall of sound, looping, some heavy whammy bar action (or perhaps it's done in post), subdued airy female vocals, but the combination is what makes it sound fresh. It's like he took the most unlistenable moments in the studio, looped it at some of the most awkward moments, and then cast some pixie dust around until it was musical. It takes a carefully brandished combination of naivete and studio wizardry to accomplish this, and a certain oblivion to expectation, which most people will never achieve. Slowdive's Just for a Day is easily my favourite shoegaze album proper, but this is by itself on another plane entirely. Loveless:Pumking::Just for a Day:Schlafly
