Yeah, well-wishes to the North and Westerly directions.

So you're saying you're going to follow an extant design? I think that's a nice compromise. I mean, I agree with you about enclosure design. Do I really think I can do better than decades more experience by people who are just plain better than it than me? Not by a long shot. But I still want to go through it just because I want to go through it.

Are you going to DIY the whole thing yourself?
-
(squints) I don't think I've hit that point. Ever.

It's also a matter of personal preference. I personally think that Schubert's music "plays itself" and actually kind of hate the way Beaux Art Trio play, for example, Schubert's 2nd Piano Trio in E flat -- not so much in ornamentation, I'm not a studious enough listener to be able to tell you what they're doing in terms of notes, but they're way to romantic with the rhythm and cadence or whatever you want to call it. Someone of a more romantic bent might think just the opposite, and prefer their interpretation over any others'. But goddamn, that is some good advice. Oh, and me: Melotron, Folge mir ins Licht single (which does not seem to have anything to do with instant coffee).

Unholy carp, now that's dedication! It still doesn't explain why they had a working prototype at Canjam, unless it wasn't boarded -- was it going through a computer?

Such a great, great album. Didn't know you were a fan (perhaps...are you?)...and that is one of their best.

Choco Bock. Goddamn, this is good. They snuck this year's into one of their seasonal boxes. 2 out of 12 of the bottles, but not bombers, alas. Still, worth the price of admission alone. I'd rank it right up there with Life & Limb. Ya, rly.

Chick Fil-A is awesome, and I keep forgetting to order that banana pudding milkshake.

The only one that's showing up on my system is the first one. For some reason, that's funnier.

I don't know, if you're going to like any Scottish ale, you'll like this one, but that's not a promise -- I didn't find it particularly complex. It's just that it's different. It's worth trying, IMHO. I did like it, but then I like most Scottish (and Scotch) ales.

Newspaper? What kind of format is that? You have to read sheet music and lyrics or something? Me: Advanced Electronics Vol. 6 Advanced Electronics Vol. 7 Advanced Electronics Vol. 8 ...and eventually Vol. 5 and the new Within Temptation.

I never got it to work (tried the other links).

MacFoochie's -- a dark, flavorful, full-bodied, willful Scottish ale -- I like!

That's not an iPad. Have you jumped ship?

The rule of thumb is, if you owe money (which you should), you should wait until the last minute to file, keeping the money for as long as you can. Of course, that rule of thumb is based on getting some kind of interest out of that money, and if you're like me, you're not getting very much...maybe 1%...

Meet us in New York, this is the first time they've been here (the US) in years, possibly ever (don't really know). Facepalm because I keep saying I'm trying to save money by not traveling, and within less than a week, I've bought two tickets to two out-of-town shows, which will require travel.

Oh. Black paint, I get it.

I wonder if that's actually a good idea -- I mean, from a green perspective, the best insulation is "air", so most insulations (fiberglass, double-paned windows, etc.) are all "tricks" to trap air. Bottles are already trapping air, so it's just a matter of arranging them in a pattern where they reinforce each others' weak spots (e.g., pattern them alternating up and down, with the neck of one between two bodies of another, then create a second layer to reinforce the weak spot, which would basically be doing the same thing at a second layer). (wanders off to think about it further)

Hey, just think, you can go back into business building and fixing stuff for people to pay it off. We'll make a capitalist of you yet.

1 ticket to the Within Temptation show in September.

PS Zoe has played with Halou before. I forget what the circumstances were -- they may have become Stripmall Architecture by then (that's what they're known as now). Yes, I am really coming out for that show. That is easily my favorite album from 2001. I think. PPS It's a Saturday.

And finally...Have you ever wondered how a woman's brain works? Well....it's finally explained here in one, easy-to-understand illustration: Every one of those little blue balls is a thought about something That needs to be done, a decision or a problem that needs to be solved. A man has only 2 balls and they take up all his thoughts.

Halou is a local band (to you), indie/alternative/trip-hoppy, electro and guitars, and the lead singer's voice makes my toes curl (in a good way): (extended version not from the album, unfortunately -- that section from about 4:04 is curtailed just a tad). C'mon, come with me, tickets are less than US$20. My sister may not be in town, so there's no guarantee that I won't be going alone. (And that's an open invitation to anyone in the San Francisco bay area.)
