  1. 16-bit DAC, but are you playing 16-bit soundfiles? Would the airport express pass the files bit perfect if asked? Ditto 44.1/48kHz.
  2. Solid State Society
  3. Yeah, why would that be a side-effect for you?
  4. I think the best way to deal with bullying is scorpions and super-glue.
  5. And again: Happy Birthday!
  6. Happy birthday, guys!
  7. Sweet, thanks HiWire! PS I know what that dog is thinking.

What do you mean, "mostly"? I actually have quite a few watches with that general color scheme (white numerals, hands, on black face, with black case & band). And I especially like the carbon fiber. And the large case, yet with a lack of the huge canteen knob that the Russian divers have. Very nice. If I didn't have a moratorium on watch-buying, I might buy one, too.
  10. How was that Chocolate Oatmeal Stout? Me: don't know yet, but about to drink something. Probably the Le Terribleah.
  11. I don't really like the HD600, and don't find them particularly detailed. I'd sell them and get Sony MDR-V6's or MDR-7506's -- definitely the detail freak's friend. But yeah, if you insist on the amp and not the headphones (I can see why, the Senns are in the top 10 most comfortable headphones ever anywhere), they do scale well. A good amp and source will definitely bring things more to your liking. I have heard X-CAN sound very detailed, but it was with a Sony CD-3000, and I believe it was modded, but hell if I know what the mods were. Caps, I think. EDIT: Okay, confirmed, caps and opamps. He followed the recipe posted on head-fi for the v2. So, since you have the v1, I would look around for that; barring that, I'd use the recipe for the v2 as a loose guide (I.E. make equivalent changes), but if you don't understand what that means, I'd suggest going to Pinkie.
  12. NY Times interactive view of damage to Japan What the hell is that from? Amish and rifle-toting bikini-clad bimbos? Must see.
  13. Night Stalker is good stuff.
  14. I think perhaps I don't fucking care. I've never been one to go along with the consensus.
  15. One more: MSB. (I like MSB -- they're hackers [they used to have a mod for adding a unencrypted digital output to DVD players so that you could use their DACs], and they cater to the modder community [they're DACs were very popular with people who liked to modify their DACs].)
  16. Hope you feel better soon, Dan.
  17. The lack of funneh makes me think that no.
  18. [sarcasm]Really? How could I have missed that? [/sarcasm] I've alredy made two jokes about it, this was my third.
  19. You might be a little young for the Greek reference.
  20. My condolences to you Ken, for losing a friend, and I will quaff one tonight in sympathy.
  21. ...or have I?
  22. What bonus, candy shrapnel? Well, at least say, 'poo'. 'Pooh' was a fictitious talking bear. Unless that's some sort of bizarre British/Canadian/Hithertounknownian spelling.[/super-pedant]
  23. No, I'm pretty sure Anal is Greek, although the movement might be Swiss.
  24. Yeah, you're a shoe-in.
