It's probably an issue with the actual connection right at the bottom of the earcup. That tended to be troublesome, IIRC. Oh, and: (insert gratuitous necromancy comment or image)

I think the difference is that once you recap it (and/or replace any other worn out parts, clean and lube the knobs, etc.), it becomes a quality product again. Whereas BPC (black plastic crap) remains BPC (here I'm talking about mostly solid state stuff -- and I don't mean discrete, because I have some quality old Pioneer solid state stuff).

Watched Castle last night over wireless -- not too shabby as long as I don't put my glasses on. Also, nice Firefly reference: His Mom: You've never heard of Serenity? Castle: (blank look) Also, they're going to be fucking finally putting the moves on each other by the end of the next episode, or you can call me mud. Woo. Fucking. Hoo. I'll be able to watch the first episode of the second season any day now (while the rest of the world is already up to ep. 5...fucking Hulu).
