  1. So the SE isn't even out yet, and there'sa N-FE of the SE?
  2. Someday we'll look back on this and laugh. (cf. classic orthodynamics and electrostatics and electrets and Grado HP-1000 series and...)
  3. Separated by color? Weight? Dampness?
  4. Probably introducing some new shit.
  5. No, I have exactly one data point. So make of that what you will, thumper.
  6. Depends how much sunlight one has to contend with (I.E. if you're going to be watching in the day and don't have room-darkening shades and/or willing to use them), then they may not be best. Otherwise yes, but are there any 42" 1080p <US$1200 plasmas? Oh, look at that, the Panasonic has one or two...
  7. Link please -- where does he say that he has? My guess is, he hasn't.
  8. The new LED's are thin (this is in response to the wall-mount requirement) -- I believe Samsung is leading the fray here; might be over your budget. I love the Sharp Aquos LCD's -- especially the 42" and 46". They have new 120Hz or 240Hz or something ones. I'd recommend 120Hz or 240Hz.
  9. You might want to add: "has a good macro" to your list of desires/requirements, if you ever want to take pictures of the insides of the Singlepower, or if you want to sell something not large and take pictures of it.
  10. I always thought TAD's looked hawt:
  11. Because every once in an infrequent while, you get through to someone who is only a shithead because they're ignorant, and in need of learning. Not me, though, I'm just lazy.
  12. LOL @ 'bit'. They (digital cables) need to meet the minimum criteria, but after that, MHO is that further improvement is nonexistent, whereas with audio cables, I think there is still an asymptotic curve (I.E. the usual lip service to diminishing returns, but no 'threshold' proper).
  13. Punkin Chunkin -- it kinda sucked, ackshully
  14. I think the idea was to get pictures of it before the meet, so as to help decide whether or not to bring it to the meet, and therefore to know what tools to bring.
  15. Forgot to ask: 'worse' in what way?
  16. Are they really blurple (my favorite color)? Oooh...
  17. Sorry to hear that Pars. And: I believe it about the 20 hot tax chicks. It is Texas, after all. From my lifetime's statistical sampling, it seems the hottest chicks come from Texas. I'm just glad they're not in used car sales, I had enough problems turning down the one.
  18. Pedobear's cousin, Milfseal:
  19. Yeah, Chilton manuals have existed for as long as I can remember, and still do, as far as I know.
  20. And yet still: happy. Who said psychos can't be happy obviously doesn't know any psychos. They're downright manic, part of the time.
  21. Actually, that's not exactly accurate -- the key is dynamic, I.E. different for every disk. So we need to be lucky once per disk. Basically, most hackers look at it as not worth the effort to reverse engineer, and find a way to get at the data-stream from a legitimate SACD or universal player after it's decrypted, at which point it needs to be captured (or fed to a "DAC") in real-time. We call it "laserdropping".
  22. Happy watch: Surprised watch: Poker face:
  23. Ah. It also sounds pretty damn good directly out of the analog outs. To my ears. PS I've also heard a several people say the Sony's make for pretty damn good redbook players.
  24. Stereophile ranked the Oppo BDP-83 A+ as a transport.
