It was supposed to be gusts of up to 50-60 mph yesterday, but I went for a walk then anyway. I got lucky, most of our neighborhood got in the way, and I only felt maybe 10mph gusts.

Yeah, that one looks kinda cold, too, but not 'palpable'. The first one hits me that way because it's obvious that the dewpoint is such that any moisture in the air instantly condenses.

He probably already knows he can get better sound, and is opting not to. I mean, c'mon, he's a musician. What you're showing him is that one can get good sound relatively inexpensively, and that's the real gift.
