  1. I presume that's directed at Hopstretch.
  2. It has a built-in tuner. That said, I just contacted them about cancelling my order. The resolution is not 1920x1200, as stated. I screwed up. I really thought I was getting a deal -- $250 for a 1920x1200 monitor that I could also occasionally watch DVDs and Blu-Ray disks on. Oh, well, back to window-shopping.
  3. They also appear to have an older, less-cool-looking pocket model, but I have no experience with any of them.
  4. But you don't need to jailbreak your phone to unlock it. And jailbreaking it won't get you on another network, it'll just give you access to...the...phone...oh, I see, "get you started", nevermind. Me: Amazon.com: Samsung Touch Of Color T200HD 20-inch LCD HDTV Monitor: Computers & PC Hardware
  5. Yeah, I wouldn't have had any idea what you were talking about, except someone else recently posted something similar in another thread. So yeah, "fit right in".
  6. Jailbreaking is not the same as replacing the SIM. But yes, it's cheaper and easier to unlock it yourself, just google "unlock iphone".
  7. Besides, the pinout's all wrong.
  8. Orange chicken from the steam buffet downstairs. You know, the trick with that particular cafeteria is to find the (at least) one thing that they do well on any particular day, and just get that. And the one checkout clerk is so hot. If she were in Japan, she'd be an idol. Except that I'm pretty sure she's Chinese. Alright, if she were in China, and they had idols like Japan did, she'd be one. Om nom nom nom nom, indeed.
  9. Projector, not projectile. I just read about Toshiba coming out with one, I'll find the magazine when I get home, I don't think it's out yet. Wait, here's a link to a story in Wired: shiny.
  10. I, on the other hand, was regurgitating a theory that I had heard to explain my experiences. It could well be the caps, I don't know.
  11. Double click...
  12. You know, all of a sudden I remember having this conversation with you in person in front of the Borders in Gaithersburg. Nevermind. And yeah, you could, but you'd have to rewrite the operating system (to accomodate the new hardware), so I'd at least wait until it's completely open source.
  13. It can be made to work on Sprint. Or you can buy an unlocked phone from Europe.
  14. You are. Just...not that cool. Me: Amazon.com: Chantal 5 Cup Pinnacle Tea Pot, Glossy Black: Kitchen & Dining
  15. Chicken with hot garlic sauce from Mandarin House A proper magician was at work on that one.
  16. Why don't you just get the SR-007?
  17. He should have gotten it to work with the iPhone and released it in October of '09.
  18. Moar lah-klee a spee-kuhr. (They actually did used to use light bulbs in crossovers.)
  19. I'll wait until it comes out in black.
  20. DC area mini-meet. At your place.
  21. You also need to try the "swap channels" trick. Tubes, cables, etc. Wherever you can. If you have the kind of headphone where you can detach the cables, do that, too. One at a time, of course, so if it does switch channels, you know exactly which step caused it to do so (if it is the amp, then the only one which should cause it to switch channels is the headphone cable).
  22. Apparently, I need to upgrade to photobucket pro today! Bandwidth exceeded...
  23. Dagnabit, it comes with Panther (10.3); Duet requires at least Tiger (10.4.10). So that's an additional $100 right there.
  24. No, absolutely not. I find even harsh recordings to be more listenable on the best systems. It could quite possibly be that classic tube distortion -- second order harmonics, is it? -- or it could just be because it doesn't make it worse, but yeah. I listen to comressed distorted digititis-laden crap all the time.
  25. Well, there's that, too. Me: Kung Po Chicken from Mandarin House in Laurel -- they must have an apprentice at the wok, the chicken isn't as magical as it usually is.
