  2. So I've got about $1700 in an Amazon credit from a returned item that I had to rebuy elsewhere to have in time. Anyone want to help me out by having me make an Amazon purchase for you and pay me back? It would really be handy! Thanks.
  3. Nice, JP I am on the plane back to LA! It was awesome to see everyone! Sent from my LG-US996 using Tapatalk
  4. Meanwhile back at the meet
  5. Anybody who is coming to the show today, it's on the 6th floor. Just come into the main ballroom and find my booth on the rightmost row to get your badge. Sent from my LG-US996 using Tapatalk

  9. Head-Fi has always been commercial. It's just now blatantly, unapologetically commercial. CanJam is a commercial trade show, and has been for some time. That said, I did go to a very cool Head-Fi meet last weekend in Philadelphia that was very much like any that one of us would have held a decade or more ago. It was fun, laid-back, and no-nonsense. It's very much still possible when people make it happen.
  10. Not sure if there is any particular member space to set up rigs, but you should definitely bring the cans. Sent from my LG-US996 using Tapatalk
  11. I don't know that it's a matter of have left, I just had a deadline to submit them earlier today. But I can probably add more a la minute if I had to guess. I'll check.

  13. So far I should be able to get everyone in who's mentioned it, 5 so far. Sent from my LG-US996 using Tapatalk
  14. MrSpeakers isn't going to have that issue. They just introduced a new headphone today at $799, and the e-stat is supposedly going to be much more affordable than the SR009.
  15. Anybody who needs a pass to CanJam, let me know by tomorrow morning and I should be able to get you in. Sent from my LG-US996 using Tapatalk
  16. I arrive at Penn Station around 3:30 Friday Sent from my LG-US996 using Tapatalk
  17. Heard of it, heard it's good, haven't been. Last time I went to GM was on a Saturday, and it was just very crowded and loud, but still entirely possible to get beers, which was good as they had quite a lineup of sours that night.
  18. I tried them hands-on at CES. The two when put together do feel quite well integrated, the connection was not loose at all. It's a nifty setup, if slightly kludgey. I agree that a one-box solution would be more elegant, and possibly smaller. The Hugo 2 was where I was more impressed with audio performance, and it looks like they have solved some of the easily broken connectors of the original. However, despite being "higher power" according to the designer I spoke to, the headphone amp doesn't cut it compared to the Pico Power I had on hand. I found it odd that the main designer/engineer kept trying to impress upon me that the headphone amp was capable of driving speakers (all the statistics on it were quoted into 8ohm loads, rather than a more typical headphone impedance), and ignoring how it performed with actual headphones. Chord certainly can build a DAC, but their integration with the headphone world is definitely still a work in progress, IMO.
  19. I'll be busy HeadAmping during meet hours, but I am definitely excited that we have a good contingent for NYC adventures. Here's a couple of spots I haven't seen mentioned, that I enjoyed on my last NYC trip, not sure if they will be convenient to any of our activities, but though to mention them: Big Alice Brewing, Long Island City - Super chill little brewery, great smoked saison, several different good sours, and more. Met the owner, a laid-back guy from Wisconsin, who was very accommodating, and opened a bottle of their gin-barrel-aged anniversary beer for me and my companion to try, even though it wasn't on the menu. Really enjoyed this spot. City Hops Beer Store, 60th and 2nd - Think SF's city beer in miniature. Maybe 5 bar seats total. High-quality small taplist and friendly staff Augur's Well, East Village - I really liked the tap list and vibe at this place, they were pretty focused on local stuff mostly unfamiliar to my west coast ass, and I had a few amazing beers here. Ginger Man is of course pretty close to our meet location, and has a great beer selection, if being a total clusterfuck both times I have visited.
  20. Also happy belated Bday Adrian! I hope you are well!
  21. Cheers and happy birthday big Mike! I hope we get a chance to hook up in Chicago in April
