I think a pair sold for more than $5900 recently on headfi, so I don't think that price is out of line. That said, I'm not interested in a $6000 pair of sony headphones
yes, participate on things you know, not things you make up. "This sounds like that" great "this is the same design as that, so it is worth $50", when it's NOT the same design, not helpful.
Exactly, why contribute to a conversation when you're clearly ignorant about what's going on? This isn't headfi, we won't give you bonus points for additional stupid posts.
I wasn't, I was pointing out the "logic" of your comment.
And maybe next time, instead of labelling your assumptions with smileys, you'll refrain from making comments on gear based on false assumptions.
If the predator isn't different from the pico, and why should it be, then it's a great amp/dac combination with separate usb to i2s and i2s to analog stages.
Except that they're different, and it isn't.
I don't have any problem believing that an active linestage can be less colored than a passive one. Passive electronics need to get their mojo from somewhere, and without the additional electrons, it seems to me they're MORE likely to be colored.
The minidac doesn't really have single ended outputs, unless you count the horrid sounding minijack.
The CEC DA53 is a pretty good balanced dac with USB input.
The cable doesn't change the warranty status. You can even send them back without a cable.
And replacing the cable before getting an amp is amazingly stupid.
