Ok. You'd rather buy a balanced amp to use with unbalanced phones than use xlr->rca cables or adapters. Interesting. Every balanced amp would work with the right output cable adapter. I'm not sure which balanced amps will let you output balanced inputs to the unbalanced outputs. But if you're gonna spend $900+ on a balanced amp (balanced desktop being the cheapest commercially available balanced amp that I know of), why wouldn't you have your phones reterminated?

If you're not using balanced headphones, just use a single ended amp and xlr->rca cables to use the balanced out from the source.

The price of JPNs and VTGs is going through the roof as more people decide they like them. Considering rarity and age, it's not surprising they are going up. As to the W2002s being better with the HA2002, sure, if you buy the 1 amp they don't sound like ass with, they may sound better. Who wants to buy a specific amp for them. The JPNs and VTGs may not be "best" at anything, but they sure sound good, and if what you want is euphony and not resolution and detail, they're a great choice.

And given how few miles are driven in them, they're not real strains on oil or co2.

I also upgraded. I had to manually edit the quicktime preferences to get flash to work, and max is broken until the author fixes a few things. I use and love spaces. I like the new look and feel. I haven't played with time machine, although I still plan on it. I'm using 2gb of ram.

As others said, cd3000s with wood and ps1 drivers To my ears, yup. But I do have a much better amp now than I did with the ps3000s and hp1. I definitely prefered my hhf1s to the pf1s (woodied ps1s) at the july meet That was my approach as well.

You understand nextel uses the same network they've always used? The reason carriers in ny have trouble is because there are so many people carrying around 2-3 devices in ny. That many devices in that small an area will overwhelm any carrier.

In OSX you just want to use the dvd player app that ships with the OS. Works great. Uses accelleration built into quicktime and the hardware. VLC is lousy on os x.
