  1. Not that any of you loons give a rats ass, but I am pulling down our internet satellite dish today. It's going to be tough living without it for the next two weeks but it also means I should be home soon:prettyprincess: You stay classy, Head-Case.
  2. I actually hate writing. I am left handed so my writing looks about as good as the average doctor
  3. When they are asking the Kings Ransom for it, yes.
  4. Hello germs, I originally posted this topic on guttersluts.com but really didn't get the responses I was looking for so I figured I would come over here and post it to a less trashy(?) group of sluts. Ok, so I know we all love our stuff and shit but every once in a while we need to write shit down. My reason for writing shit is usually job related. So my hobby is collecting fine government writing instruments made by the fine handicapped people at Skilcraft. The great thing is they are free (unless your a tax payer) and most people just leave them laying around so it's easy to get a good collection. My day usually starts with me using a .5mm mechanical pencil to writing down the weather for my flight period. Then the same pencil is used to write any notes down during the mission brief. After that I have to switch to a pen for the flight because pencil lead seems to break at the most unopportune times. The pen is used to write down fun stuff like UTM grids to IEDs, insurgent training camps, rocks disguised as insurgents found by UAVs, locations of friendly forces in highly armored vehicles freaking out because someone is shooting at them with a .22, and the location to a Kirdish village where a guy is dressed like Ronald McDonald. I also some times use a marker to mark things on my maps, but normally to write on the dry erase board and piss people off. I did have a red marker to match the blue one but since they are filled by the blind it didn't last to long. Here are my tools of the trade:

  6. All I have is a BH so I am going to guess that is what it is
  7. I always said they were pretty hard to drive but everyone else seemed to say the contrary so I just let it go. As for the seal I never really got one either but they still sounded fine without it, unlike the 007.
  8. I think the HE amps work at 600v but 580v seems to work fine.
  9. Nice! Now is a good time to stock up on guns and ammo seeing as it looks like we are going to have a new Supreme Socialist Commander running the show in a couple months. Probably should pick up that M82 I have been meaning to get.
  10. Happy Birthday! Any presents show up on your door step?
  11. Amphenol FTW Edit: But since the OT of this discussion is about using video cable for audio I don't think it really matters what connector you use.
  12. Why would the current still be limited to what it was at 120v when the transformer is rated for power? Wouldn't it's power limit still be that same? Obviously taking into account the wire gauge was sufficient for the current.
  13. It will have the same voltage as the connected primary. But I am guessing he will be running the primaries in series so they both should be connected.
  14. Just change all your plugs to BNC and be done with it. And make sure they are cryo'ed.
  15. Transformers are rated in VA so as the voltage goes down the current handling would go up. At least this is the way I understand it.
  16. I would think that the secondary current could be twice what it normally was seeing as the voltage was half.
  17. I can't think of any reason why not off the top of my head.
  18. I am all about DIY, but the Pico is one of the few things I didn't mind shelling out the cash out for. For what it does in such small well built package just can't be beat. Even if it does only have a $20 Dac chip;)
  19. I think it would all depend on the characteristic impedance of the cable (75ohm I think for component) and the impedance of your source and amp/preamp. If you had a source with an unusually high impedance or a amp/preamp with a unusually low impedance it might make a difference depending on your actual ability to hear the attenuation/freq shift at the upper ends of the audio spectrum. But since you more than likely have properly made audio equipment and normal ears it should make any difference.
  20. For the price you think they could have made it with custom machined mounts instead of zip ties for the caps.
  21. I figured it was some late night drunk posting:p
  22. I should be in CS for at least a couple months after getting back. Look forward to giving the new stuff a listen. For those of you on the loaner list if you could just shoot me a PM when you receive the item and ship it to the next person so I can have an idea where it is.
