  1. Looks like Al has the drink suggestions for Vodka covered. My goto potato vodka is Luksusowa. It is as good as any other potato vodka I have tasted and it is actually pretty inexpensive. I like the taste of potato vodka better, especially straight and chilled or in a Vodkatini. I also like to make green peppercorn flavored vodka. I take about 30 green peppercorns and place them into a large mason jar. Put in a bottle of vodka (I generally use Russian Standard) and let sit for 12-24 hours, the longer it stands the more peppery it tastes. Then pour the vodka back into it's bottle, cap it back up and place into the freezer. Excellent for sipping on hot days and makes an excellent Bloody Mary.
  2. Sounds good and as Nate said all that matters is that she likes it. Since we were living in South Carolina at the time I went with the traditional engagement rifle rather than a ring. Since we are still married I assume she liked it.
  3. That is awesome Al and take Dinny's suggestion. I see what you did there
  4. A Mountain Man following Al and Shelly This is a great cocktail and the name alone makes it worthy of a toast to one of our robot friends. Cheers Jacob!
  5. WooHoo! Did not see that one coming. Big congratulations Jacob.
  6. Hail damage is the suck. Hope the insurance comes through for you.
  7. I love the glass Gene. The beer is not too shabby either.
  8. Those are nice Jeff. Great work Smeggy!
  9. Thanks for the warning on the double rye. I guess sometimes moar is not better. I will definitely second Al on the Rendevous Rye as a very good rye and the Willet as good and a definite bargain. The Mountain Man sounds good Al, will definitely put that on the list. Nice choice on the Pimm's Cup Shelly. Sorry about the Berlioni. I wonder if a different gin may be in order. Picked up some Strega the other day so decided to give it a whirl. The Georgia 1 1/4 oz North Shore #11 Gin 1 1/4 oz Lemon Juice 1/2 oz Strega 1/2 oz Gomme Syrup A dollop of egg white Shake well and double strain into a cocktail glass
  10. Hope things turn around for you and your family Larry.
  11. Well the closest I could find was a Jamie Boudreau cocktail called the Dupont 2 oz rye whiskey ¾ oz Campari ½ oz beer liqueur Stir and strain into cocktail glass. Why not name it yourself? How about a Cajun Negroni? The proportions look pretty good unless you want the Campari in the background.
  12. Nice Bensonhurst Shelly. I like all the Borough cocktails. Me: Corpse Reviver # 2 # 2
  13. Decided to take the advice of The West Coast Legal Team™ and have a Corpse Reviver #2
  14. I use SAS for mainstream stuff and R for not-so-mainstream stuff. Parallels 6 has a nice iPad app for remote connections.
  15. Nice experimentation Shelly! Decided to take my own advice
  16. Two full size Vespers. One with Gale Force and one with North Shore 11. Karen preferred the Gale Force so that worked well for both of us.
  17. Summer in academia does have it's perks.
  18. That is probably a good thing as SPSS sucks.
  19. If there is room I'm in. I should be no threat as I am a fan of "Da Bears".
  20. Tipsy double post.
  21. Just got back from the John Boos factory showroom and outlet where we ordered a new cherry top for our kitchen island.
  22. Nice! Hope to be there in a couple of weeks.
  23. Don't get me wrong, I have drunk every one of those sometime in my life, but I am not going to waste the space in that refrigerator to keep those "beers" cold. That is an Edgestar. Marvel also makes a 15" unit but I could not justify a cost 3x that of the Edgestar.
  24. Damn, I do like the look of the Regas. Nice Ric.
