  1. Some excellent lines. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbe2dtRt0Ik
  2. Sold mine and bought HP1s. Do not regret the substitution.
  3. Badly Drawn Boy -- About A Boy: OST
  4. I'm thinking you can get to New York pretty easily from most parts of Pennsyltucky and a weekend exploring The Blind Tiger, Spuyten Duyvil and the Ginger Man might be in order. What do you reckon, Dinny?
  5. Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark -- Crush Vinyl.
  6. I think we can safely posit that no Grado family member was ever in too much of a hurry to stop and pick up a penny spotted on the sidewalk.
  7. My memory might be wildly off base but I'm pretty sure it was discussed somewhere here not that long ago. EDIT: Here's we go.
  8. Isn't Joe charging, like, $2K for HP1000 refreshers now? Making hay while the sun still shines, I guess.
  9. Fnarr fnarr!
  10. Joe Jackson -- Night And Day Vinyl.
  11. Asked because I read the Ken Kessler spoogefest where he swears there's ZOMG moar bass with the newer models. Always take reviews with ze grain of salt, but he has heard probably as many Quads as anyone. Maybe he was pitching his book idea at the time! http://www.quad-hifi.co.uk/downloads/HFN%20ESL%20review%2006.pdf
  12. Don't listen to the Monkey. He's a muck-savage DACshite. Are you using flats on the HP1s? It helps a lot with comfort and is the way to go sonically, too, though it took me a while to see the light on that myself.
  13. 'Til Tuesday -- Welcome Home Vinyl.
  14. Robbie Robertson -- Robbie Robertson Vinyl.
  15. ^^^ That's pure gold, that is. Music From The Motion Picture Magnolia -- Songs By Aimee Mann
  16. Buy used. Keep an eye on the "For Sale Elsewhere" thread here.
  17. Because you just made clear that you have the resources to do better on the criteria you set out -- if you care to -- than you are ever going to do with the Denons, which are not particularly good headphones to begin with. Stax SR-007 - Wikiphonia Stax SRM-717 - Wikiphonia Otherwise, you don't really have many more places to go with the D7000s. If DIY is out, then that rules out an AMB Beta 22, which would probably be the standard recommendation. On the tube side, you could try the Eddie Current Zana Deux.
  18. Sell the Denons and the HR and get some Stax O2s and a 717.
  19. Spot on. The custom installer will just tell the rich customer that "Lexicon is the best" and everybody will be happy. Actually, the customer will probably be better off than if Lexicon actually did try to build their own Blu-ray player, because it would be buggy as shit. You should see the AVS threads about the Cary pre-pros. Not pretty.
  20. Tell that to Ultrasone.
  21. Likely the latter, Dinny. Just got a new card in the mail with a form letter. No unauthorized charges on the old card that I can see. Just a pain that it's now apparently happening so often. Of course they won't say which merchant cocked up.
  22. There really haven't been any complaints here about lack of bass with the 13s, have there? And God knows all the worthies have tried them out by now! So maybe the 18s will be too much of a good thing. Fart IEMs.
  23. Where's tethering, you fucking assclowns?
  24. Rykarda Parasol -- Our Hearts First Meet Must remember to get the new one too.
