My work upgraded my laptop from 2GB to 4GB of RAM and it's honestly like having a new machine. So much better. Had not realized how badly it was choking before.

I did that. I then went down to the beach in Torrey Pines and back up for good measure. It truly kicked my butt. Trying to decide if I should do it again tomorrow

You can view music by folder in my music on the Squeezebox it's one of the options when you go into My Music.

? are you adding a directory at a time? Most people have everything in a parent directory and just put that in the control panel and let it sit there for a while but 9 hours seems like a lot. I guess if you have thousands of albums.

As I tend to only add 1/2 albums at a time I just do it manually. I copy them to the directory then I go to a squeezbox and browse by folder and it adds the album. I have had to rescan a few times and it really does take a inordinate amount of time.

I'm assuming that they have some grace period but I don't know. I assume you can check their FAQ. I signed up when my Drobo had a error and stayed on with the fan off and ate one of the hard drives, I had images of losing all my family photos and the $ is worth the peace of mind. As an added benefit I can now pull down my lossless audio files from work so I don't need to remember to take my portable drive home.
