  1. not that I'm as experienced but mentioning macro the 105mm Nikon is an incredible lens. Also the 18-55 Nikon kit lens is a good one in many people's opinions though it feels like a toy.
  2. Awesome trip Al. Have a great time!
  3. Yeah I'll admit we're really lucky. The impending baby pushed us over the edge on getting it so that we could have a fun weekend place an hour and a half or less away to take him instead of just hanging around at the house all the time (vacations other than weekends are difficult). We'll see if it was a good decision but at least the prices were (relatively) very reasonable. Good call on the Roubaix
  4. Win! Congrats on the goal and the purchase! I just made a offer on a place south of here (Mayberry Mid-Atlantic?) and if I am successful we'll have to have an east coast meet with bikes and headphones
  5. Grilled chicken with bbq sauce for dinner. No pics though. Darn.
  6. Great news Nate!!!
  7. Maybe, Maybe not. Is the adjustment screw in too far? Is your cable too tight? (Sorry if you already checked those). Deraileurs usually only break if the spring goes or someone rips them off.
  8. Thanks for the congratulations. I thought it was public knowledge at this point.
  9. Moved my desktop, drobo and everything else computer related up to our loft in preparation for the office becoming a nursery
  10. Yeah they were about the same price from Amazon so I decide that the separate screen was a no brainer though it does not measure as much as the kill a watt.
  11. This thing is neat. My computer costs me $85 a year to run
  12. Good luck with the recovery and I'm glad the procedure went smoothly. Me: I just booked to have my chimney's swept and have a cap installed on my false chimney that has started to have a small plant grow out of it... here's hoping this costs less than $500
  13. Belkin Conserve Insight F7C005q Energy-Use Monitor Time to figure out how much my Slimserver is drawing from the wall. I had set it to do wake on lan but I'm having issues with that from some locations so I'm thinking of having it sit on all the time.
  14. Thank you. I don't really deserve it in cycling specific way but it's a beautiful bike and I do work hard
  15. Thanks Mike
  16. I'm sorry but I'm out of the loop. What's the "Capitol"? I've gone to their website and I can't find it.
  17. Put my new wheels on my bike: Weighed the bike and it's under 15lbs I Then took them back off because I'm not allowed to ride them yet.
  18. Congratulations to your daughter Al!
  19. Well I have brand new wheels that are entirely carbon and titanium so you can guess what I'd recommend..... To be honest though I'd say the Roubaix will likely be your best investment if you're really going to ride a lot, carbon rules for ride quality. The mixture of bottom bracket stiffness and vertical compliance is pretty much awesome.
  20. Roubaix it is then. It's pretty much the best comfort road bike or #2 depending on model year. I will put a plug in for SRAM components. They are awesome in that the performance is essentially identical throughout the range which is not the case with Shimano. I'm thinking of changing my only non sram bike over to Apex to try it out.(As a note Contador climbed up Zircolan in the Grio with a SRAM Apex rear derailleur and 11-32 casette)
  21. Nice The Roubaix is a sweet bike and a excellent performer for the money, I had originally wanted one. If you're more flexible (litterally) the cheapest "race" bike these days is the Canondale CAAD10 which is incredible according to everyone I've seen do a review or own one.
  22. Happy Birthday MD!
  23. Happy Birthday and good luck with the paper. I need to submit an abstract to a conference myself and I give it a 50/50 at this point.
