  1. The ASPCA recommends that if you find a kitty and don't see any signs you just keep them rather than turn over to a shelter hoping the owner finds it. Bird in the hand and all that...
  2. Barbados is where I grew up and consider home. I was born in Grenada but we moved to Barbados when I was 6 months old. Now I'm a Canadian citizen as well and the USCIS generally smiles on them so I'm applying as a Canadian.
  3. I have a Kirk BH-1 (used to be one of the #1 contenders before RRS seemed to knock them off) and I've been pretty happy with it but with the big glass (400+mm) on it the sag can become a massive PITA but my impression is that all of them will have some amount of that. It is what it is.
  4. I had my lawyer (wife) look over the paperwork before I sent it out. She only found 6 or 7 errors
  5. ^congrats on whatever it is (can't see the photos) Me: Wireless security sensors for my new backyard office and basement door. I came to realize that some of my bikes cost more than my car is worth and therefore not having them behind an alarmed door/windows wasn't smart.
  6. No offense taken and no need to apologize.
  7. Thanks? I guess there is a bit of luck involved with how long it takes but otherwise it's just a matter of waiting and studying some basic civics.
  8. Sent in my application for US Citizenship
  9. My backyard office is finished
  10. Messed around with my new Squeebox touch and the web interface for the server. These things are very cool. I wish my f'ing electrician would come and finish my damn shed so I can start moving stuff into it.
  11. Good riddance. I also agree that a trial would have been preferable but it was not a likely thing really. Glad that no one on our side got hurt.
  12. Well played sir.... you made me lol
  13. It was yesterday but my backyard office (bike training room) is pretty much done
  14. Made a donation to the Salvation Army towards tornado relief. I hope anyone around here who lives in the affected areas and/or knows anyone who does is doing ok.
  15. I have to pick a new network password to go with my newly expanded setup and I haven't yet come up with one..... Probably something randomish....
  16. Moved my cable modem and old router out of the office and set up a repeater/bridge to the office desktop/future slimserver in preparation for my 2 new slim devices (and new higher speed router) tomorrow....
  17. Cool. The only thing I'm not enjoying is having to convert 4000+ tracks to flac and all that's involved with organizing it etc. I will also have to keep a separate WMA lossy library for sync to my media player at this point. dBpoweramp is making it reasonably painless.
  18. Happy Birthday!
  19. I have had a copy of every single os they did since dos 2.0 including ME and Vista. I actually used vista for eyars quite happily but 7 appears to be an improvement performance wise which is nice.
  20. Finally something audio related:
  21. Well mine took more than 3 hours of churning. At least I didn't have to sit there. I actually also upgraded that particular machine to Professional for the credential abilities which didn't take more than 5 min. I then learned that I could have upgraded to ultimate for $40 more or now I can upgrade to ultimate from pro for $129 more..... yay I'm sticking with pro for now. Chiropractor went great and I can pic stuff up again...
  22. Congrats to Ollie! Me: 1. Pinched a nerve in my back this morning putting on my damn jacket. 2. Went to a 3 hour meeting anyway. 3. Went to lunch at Hard Times Chili with friends from said meeting 4. Started installing Windows 7 on one of my machines 5. Helped my shed builder sort out a settling issue that came up with the shed he's building involving re-spacing cedar siding. 6. Windows is still installing.... Chiropractor tomorrow at 6:40am ....
  23. Congrats on the car. Me: The electrical bits & installation for my new shed. 4 GFI outlets, 1 light fixture with switch and a cable line
  24. I pay to have a UPS store box. It's awesome and entirely worth it to me for the headache/worry involved with having stuff sit at the door.
