  1. My avid setup is fine I believe. I can't remember much if any noise. Have a good ride tomorrow Jeff. Sorry your bike isn't ready. I would be willing to meet up early. I just dropped by my shop so that they could give me a price on a mid level cyclecross bike for the coming fall )
  2. Raffy I bought the 13 pack of the videos and will try them all gradually but I'll try There Is No Try next. I just ignored the attacks on the last few cycles though, dieting and those videos may not go wo well together and I'm not stopping dieting. I actually have the videos syncronized to my computrainer using PerPro sutdio (http://perfprostudio.com/) so it turns up the power to 120% FTP etc as the attacks happen etc. A friend of mine who's a coach recommended the setup and I must say it's pretty awesome as it runs the video and pauses it etc. It will even work with an ANT+ dongle, ant+ speed/cadene and your trainer model to give you a approximate power from your trainer so you can do it that way if you don't have a power meter.
  3. Looking forward to the pics and seeing the final product. I may have missed it but did you decide on paint and logo? I'd be tempted to clear coat what I've seen so far Getting to work by 6:15am and leaving at 4 to head home to cook dinner and hang out with Ben until bed time (7pm) doesn't leave any time for riding. Not going to change any of it but it's a fact.
  4. Hope that the pain relief continues for you Brent that is awesome! I did an hour last night on the Computrainer with the "Fight Club" training video from Sufferfest. The name of the company is very accurate: That absolutely whooped my ass. It will be a while until I can successfully do those videos but hoping to give it a try 2x a week during the work week. I wish I could ride outside but that's just not possible with the hours I am currently working.
  5. BackBlaze is my favorite of that type. Though I'm honestly not sure how it works with deleted files and if it removes them from the backup.
  6. Fair point in general Nate. That said, in this case the price match is a no brainer from their prospective.
  7. I can totally see that it would be taken advantage of if they did it for other websites/stores but this was both things being sold by Amazon so I could just do the return and rebuy and it would cost them more money.
  8. Hope you feel better Ed. I just got off the phone with amazon because they would not refund me the price difference on two thermostats I bought 20 days ago because it was outside their 7 day window. Their tune changed a bit when I pointed out that I would just purchase two new ones and return the old ones (well in fact I'd return the new ones). I was granted a "one time" exemption. I guess I'll have to do the switch return in the future.
  9. Plus about 20k if I remember right. I think it was 50k or so.
  10. Congrats on the start of the build Vicki and it's cool that you're getting a bunch of updates. I'm pretty sure they'll happily take your money and do the logos painted on however you like (That's an option on Calfees).
  11. Happy birthday!
  12. This. Crappy weather today. Indoors all day.
  13. Jeff, want to ride together next Sunday morning? I pray that the weather is like today. I probably won't get out on the bike this weekend but getting out on the boat is better
  14. Congrats on the ride Brent! That bike looks awesome.
  15. Enjoy the ride Jeff. I'm taking my Giant with me to the lake house for a long Easter weekend.
  16. Nice! Any bike that you enjoy riding is nice! Thinking of buying a bunch of software for the Computrainer with the hope that it will encourage me to ride more in the early morning. I get to work for 6:15am though so it seems very early indeed.
  17. Good luck Larry. Hoping you recover quickly.
  18. Great news Dusty!
  19. Yup. Hills still suck but I am faster than when I was 260. As they say: "It never gets easier you just get faster"
  20. Good job stretch. I got past 200lbs myself this past weekend.
  21. Good luck with the goals Brent! They all look totally achievable but one thing I would add is "Have Fun!" because every time I "fall off the bike" (i.e. stop riding as much) it's because it's causing me more stress to try and meet whatever goal is on the horizon than it's worth to me.
  22. Higher cadence is easier to deal with accelerations and small hills etc. It is also easier on the knees. Go with what works
  23. Don't put too much pressure on yourself Jeff. Don't worry about RPM either way and ride what you find comfortable.
  24. Glad you enjoyed the ride Jeff. Race ready carbon bikes are the good stuff.
  25. Got in 2.5 hours this morning in the cold. It was suitably hard and I had leg cramps for the last half hour or so. Also cleared 200lbs this morning
