Wow CJ, sorry you had to go through that and I really commend you for staying above the fray. I grew up as a minority but never experienced anything like that. Just some minor name calling.
-
I got in zero. Don't worry about it
-
Glad you got it fixed Jeff.
-
Jeff if you can't find something more convenient I could lend you the one off my mtb. That said you should be able to find a bike shop open on Sunday in Charlottesville.
-
Jeff, it is mostly for riding at lunch time from work. The riding around there is awesome. I doubt there will be much weekend riding for a long while so I am trying to get out once a week during lunch. Jeff it is pretty easy to make it through but you do hit 4 or so blocks of traffic.
-
Jeff you were in the neighborhood? Did you ride from home? I put my new wheels on the Trek and the SKS Race Blade XL fenders to make it a commuter. The fenders clip on and off easily.
-
I'm out. Sorry but I would feel too guilty leaving Meaghan home when she's 36 weeks pregnant and on doctor mandated rest.
-
Not that it should sway it either way but I'm out for Schaeffer Farms. I like riding up there but I'm not going to have enough time to drive up there etc.
-
Done. Good luck Brent!
-
So what's the deal with the MTB ride? I may be in but I need to know timing before I can know for sure.
-
Happy Birthday Kevin!
-
I may be in. What distance are you guys thinking?
-
I have a saris bones rack too if anyone is interested. I have not used it in years and it just sits downstairs.
-
Sadly I agree mike. Does not look like it will work. Now is the bike going to go to cuba?
-
My bad. I counted a couple times but I miscounted. Probably still in the price range I'd offer. I have a 3 year old bike with Zipps that cost more than that bike did when new (i.e. both bikes at purchase) and I'd be surprised to get more than $2.5k for it if I could sell it (XL's aren't commonly traded). Mike, what stem length on your Gunnar?

Nate, I personally concur about the yellow but that can be changed with a trip back to Calfee for paint (not cheap but doable). Personally considering what the other Calfees appear to be going for I would not offer him much over 1500 for that bike: sure it's Dura-Ace but it's 9 speed. Could be wrong on that but my opinion.

Fair enough Nate. Good decision. I hope someone around here gets it.

So I just spent about 15 min trying out both pencils in usage with various leads and the Rotring is superior to the Pentel in both comfort and control. I switched the lead to 2H but I also tried the HB and the H and I think I may end up at H after this is done. One thing that always was a bit offputting about the pentel was distance from the grip to the tip seemed long for how I write and it would irritate my supporting finger, the Rotring decreases this distance by 5-8mm which is long way and much more comfortable. The Pentel is officially retired as of today and will become my backup pencil (too bad I just bought spare parts and a backup of it is sitting at home). Very happy with the purchase Now I need to find a package of eraser refills (which are 800 only and I can't put my own eraser in). I don't use the erasers except in emergencies but I want to have spares.
-
Seconded. The motion passes.
-
Good luck Nate! I guess I started a trend around here
-
I'm a bit surprised by that facet as I don't notice it being that much heavier than my Pentel.
-
It arrived! It feels great in my hand so far and I really like the retraction twist motion. Note taking tomorrow

Nate, it's usually in smaller (or ladies) sizes because a guy buys a bike for his wife (not literally but figuratively) and then she loses interest. That certainly happened to me. My wife has 5k+ of bikes that have not been out of the basement in 2+years (including at least 6 months before she got pregnant). Fact is 58s will sell for a high price because there are 30 people that would want them (like yourself). Ari, the calfee will be a lot smoother than your Aluminum Cannondale and also will steer in a less agressive manner.

Well that puts my consideration of a $750 wheel purchase in perspective... great deal for whoever gets it. Totally upgradable over time too.
