I think there is one with a dac for sale on HF. I like the amp and considered it when I picked the Rx. The build quality of the TTVJ is a bit better than the Rx, at least in terms of the case. I had to send an Rx back as the jacks became loose. I don't recall how the TTVJ compares sound wise to the Rx but I'm guessing it's not a big difference.

Sounds like you guys are having a blast. Gene has the GF-1 in addition to his DSLR. I should have checked it out at the meet.

I'm trying to stay with Canon since I have at least one decent Canon lens. In addition, it will be a less noticeable transition. I have a 20D that I will be selling once I upgrade. While video is not essential, it would be nice which is why I have an interest in a 7D. I can get a nice condition, low actuation 5D mkI for $1,000 locally, which is tempting. I haven't seen any used 7D's yet so that may keep me from going for one at $1,700 new. The 50D is still a consideration.

I've been looking at Canon, from the XT1 to 50D to 7D to 5D. All of them are more than I need or know how to use. Probably a good idea.

I've been doing this for a week or more, still can't decide.

While in Miami they should probably go to Coconut Groove. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. South Beach and Lincoln Road as well. In Key West just direct them to Duval Street. They can rent mopeds, snorkeling, scuba, boat trips. Sloppy Joes and Hogs Breath are touristy places but there is no shortage of places to eat in walking distance to everything. Mallory Square is a cool place where there are street performers and a great sunset.
