She has recently discovered a love of baking. Mostly cheesecakes so far. And then takes them into work to avoid eating them all.

Yeah it rather does. And I spied a cupcake emporium while walking home and taking to my sister about the ones she is baking so stopped for a tiramisu.

I'd eat that until the cows came home. Then I'd eat the cows. Looks amazing though. Is there braised pig cheeks or something under the egg? Veal tartare and lamb kebab for me tonight, with a negroni to start and some very tasty local grapes to round out the food groups. Really freaking good.

There is some amazing scenery around Portland. Crater Lake is next on my list of things to see down that way. I went swimming in this (or rather, a few miles south, this being the view from the office).

Something like that, though the menu was in Hebrew so not entirely sure.

Longanusa sausage (no Steve I'm not making this up) lumpia, green onion salad, Calamansi vinaigrette. Delicious. Congee with five spice duck confit, pork cracklings, bock choy, soy cured egg yolk, beet soaked mustard seeds Best congee I have had by a good margin.
