Schiit Ragnarok

Mr. Plankton shilled hard for it and the blind noobs followed suit.  If the Rag can make the HD800's sound "not bright" and bass heavy, then guess what, it's a dark sounding amp and not transparent.

Unfortunately it's silver only. Then, no interest for it

It's HF, they are all idiots looking for the next new shiny.  This is better than most of the crap they shill but it's still not the all round champion people think it is.

Why do you think so?

You can't have an amp that can drive both speakers and headphones equally well.  Can't be done and it is shows when team molasses loves it.

Yes I think so too. I found that even a headphone amp if it was designed for full-size it won't sound good on IEM even with a super low gain or whatever it has.

It's a speaker amp so it's of no use for headphones.

I had a listen to a JPS labs Abyss through a Yggdrasil DAC and both the Ragnarok and GSX MkII amps.

The GSX Mk II was more neutral and exposed more plankton.  The Rag was a (very) little sterile.

When listening to fast paced music the Rag seemed to bop along very well.

Listening to the same music through the GSX Mk II, you heard the extra detail in and in-between the notes.

But, here, we are nit-picking. I would be happy with either amp - it's just that I would be more happy with the GSX Mk II.

As ususal YMMV.
