With the heightened interest in ecology brought about by climate change there are frequent new discoveries in lifeform behaviour and interactions, very, very little is yet known about the deep sea environment (for example) and the general gathering of information about the detailed relationships that constitute earths' ecosystem has barely begun. With this in mind I think the prospect of risking introduction of new unpredictable lifeforms into any little understood ecosystem a bit unwise.
