Fing
Didn't think any PC game (other than Diablo 3) would grab my attention, but it seems Spore might well do that. blessingx
I haven't really gamed since the mid-80s, and Spore is the first game since then I've been interested in. Like many, I've been following it for what years now? Not sure if I'll get the scaled down iPhone/Touch/mobile, the full-scale OS X or both versions, but likely the first game I'll spend money on in over 20 years. laxx
I lost interest in Spore once they announced an iPhone version.
laxx
Less focused development for the PC game.
laxx
That too. I hate delays, but some are just worth waiting for. Only games I'm really looking forward to are Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, and Starcraft II. And even SC II I'm starting to not care so much about. riceboy
I've been interested in Spore since I heard about it. I like the concept of the game. It was funny watching Robin Williams demo the game a while back.
blessingx
For those interested in the galactic edition, a sale just popped up.
Nenso
Spore uses computer algorithms to create music so that the music is, theoretically, different each time. Pretty neat.
Salt Peanuts
Digging up an old thread here, but has anyone picked one up (or is going to pick one up) yet? I was going to until I learned EA is using SecuROM for the game.
deepak
I sort of became less interested after they made it less free for all, and made the evolution more structured, essentially breaking it into four stages of gameplay. Beefy
That being said, I might pick this up once it hits the bargain bin......
riceboy
never thought about that.
NightWoundsTime
It's good. I'm losing horribly since I went for the "Hard" difficulty. All good until I hit the Civ level with my race of Trogdors. They're full on military, but the enemy took over too much of the map too soon. Considering starting again on the Tribal level on the Medium difficulty so I can figure out a strategy.
Duggeh
Burnination typically never fails as a tactic. Except in TibSun.
NightWoundsTime
So did anyone out there play this more than a day or two?
ph0rk
I played it a bit, carnivore->predator, omnivore->adaptable, and herbivore->[friendly?]. Each time the city-level game was essentially claim all the territory and stomp them right away. Its all over once you build planes. Never bothered overmuch with the galactic exploration part, the fact that your spaceship was all window dressing made it annoying (guns and whatnot don't affect its capabilities). Just a bit more developmental TLC on each of the 5 subgames would have made for a much better product, imho.
NightWoundsTime
A lot less pandering to non-gamers would have saved it. The E3 demo video showed each stage as being much more open ended.
