Smeggy
I need to get a better soldering iron than the one I currently have and was wondering if there are any opinions of the Weller WP35. It looks like a decent iron and is in the price range I can afford. A full electronically controlled station is too costly so this looked ideal for me. If you know of a better iron at around the same price (no higher) please advise.
Mister X
I would go with one of the Hakko clones before I would buy another Weller product. Example----> Stan Rubinstein Assoc., Inc. > Aoyue Digital Soldering Station 937+
naamanf
I had a Xytronics 137ESD that I was very happy with. It was a bit more than the Weller ($70) but it was also a lot better iron. As a bonus it used Hacko tips.

Smeggy
Only if it has digital control and a rusty pointy bit.

dBel84
Been using one of these for the past 8 odd years ( replaced a simple weller ) and it keeps me happy - DMM as a free gift is cool as it doesn't mind the abuse which my pricier one is too much of a sissy boy for. ..dB
GPH
Bummer, I went to use my Hakko 936 today and found out that the ceramic element in the soldering pen (Hakko 907) is broken. Does anyone know if it's possible to replace just that part or do I have to replace the whole pen? And if it's the case, any cheaper alternatives than buying the official Hakko part? mypasswordis
My 936 clone (Aoyue) came with an extra heating element so I'm pretty sure it's replaceable.
