August 3, 200917 yr comment_262285 So has anyone heard this goddamn thing yet? Doesn't seem to be much out there about it except the usual oohs and aahs. Report
August 4, 200917 yr comment_262502 Is that the monkey sound for "I'm going to get this next week"? Report
August 4, 200917 yr comment_262528 Proprietary DAC chips sound pretty expensive, but what do I know? Alas, the SOTA still don't have word clock or asynchronus USB. Or even hi rez through USB. Almost as if quality and practicality are mutually exclusive... Report

August 4, 200917 yr comment_262592 Probably not. This thing is what, a million dollars? So... it's about time to sell your body on the streets for some MOAR DACS?? Report
August 4, 200917 yr Author comment_262595 I can really see myself getting one if I don't end up finding a decent house this year. Or if closing costs are cheaper than expected. This no high-end-audio thing is killing me. Report

August 4, 200917 yr Author comment_262670 So I checked the Stahl Tek site again, and the 6 moons stuff. I thought I remembered it being $14,000, but $20,000 is definitely not happening. I've never had that much discretionary money in an account in my life. Maybe I read that $14,000 was the street price or some such. I dunno. Report
August 4, 200917 yr comment_262723 If the difference between $20k and $14k is the difference between no and maybe, then you're a much bigger baller than I. Report
