August 4, 201015 yr I have the Senn 800 on route, the Audeze LCD-2 on pre-order, the HE-5LE in house and my only amp is the Meier Concerto to use when I compare contrast them to my KGSS/O2. Thinking it might be a slaughter. So what single, hopefully quickly sourced amp can both amp the trio above well and provide at least some chance of pulling me away from the O2 for around $1K. Go For anyone curious as to why I'm even entertaining the tourny... My O2 cable got torn inside the jacket so I sent it off to the UK for repair which in turn made me realise I had been out of the hobby aspect of audiophilia for 4 years So I'm running around grabbing cans to try that I missed along the way. Always been a fan of Kevin's work but had a HeadAmp Reference(AKA GS-X) before the KGSS so I wanted to try something new. Would really like to try a tube amp if one matched the above req.
August 5, 201015 yr Emmeline "The Tomahawk" Portable Headphone Amp - Ray Samuels Audio Are you sure it has enough power? Might need to use the Emmeline, The Protector: The World's First Balanced, Ultra-Portable Headphone Amp - Ray Samuels Audio

August 5, 201015 yr provide at least some chance of pulling me away from the O2 for around $1K. Unless your name is tyrion, good luck....i'm just sayin.....
August 5, 201015 yr Author Fully expect the O2 to win but won't cry if the rig with less 0s in the price wins =)
August 5, 201015 yr Author Two months is about right. Got on the list in June. IEM and me don't get along. Being Canadian and all, the whole RSA milspec thing isn't doing it =P
August 5, 201015 yr Two months is about right. Got on the list in June. IEM and me don't get along. Being Canadian and all, the whole RSA milspec thing isn't doing it =P You Canadians can't handle the milspec nail polish, eh?
August 5, 201015 yr Now, if it were Royal Mounted spec... Indeed, RCMP red nail polish is clearly superior for audiophile duties.
August 5, 201015 yr Now, if it were Royal Mounted spec... ... and Bob's your Uncle! ... yesssss, I just always wanted to say that!
August 5, 201015 yr your first real answers: beta22, or maybe a kickass m^3? another fake answer: speakers.
August 5, 201015 yr Dynahi, dynafet or B22. About as good as it gets for those inferior dynamics... No bias there at all eh?
August 5, 201015 yr Plenty of Class A bias, yes. I personally don't care who designs something but the stuff KG and Ti give away is just better then the rest because they care enough and have the skill to make it as good as is possible. You could add Pass to this list but none of his stock designs are for headphones... Seeing people recommend that steaming pile of crap which is the Rudistor RB-010 as the bezt evah just makes me furious every time....
August 5, 201015 yr I was shooting for the pun there I have b22 and dynahi boards but they're still a ways away from being completed >.> I'd like to see pics of the RB010 innards, I've seen it recommended quite a bit on that other site...
August 5, 201015 yr Let's just say there is a reason for the "isolated amplifier modules" and no reason at all for the massive heatsinks...
August 5, 201015 yr Let's just say there is a reason for the "isolated amplifier modules" and no reason at all for the massive heatsinks... I was looking on the Rudistor site and found this: Are those heatsinks cooling the.....power resistors? Holy shit, it's $4000?
August 5, 201015 yr Author On my previous and short lived Rudi the heatsinks would have been nice. The sides of the case were of the "fingers don't go here" variety Now who builds M3 and two channel b22/s22 for us DIY noobs?
August 5, 201015 yr Provided you're not looking for custom work, both M3 and B22/S22 combo are for sale over at Rockhopper Audio. The builder/owner is a member here and his favorite color is orange, which makes him an all-around nice guy.
