August 4, 201115 yr comment_462429 The right driver in my HD650s is loose. If I wiggle the headphones around I can feel and hear it jiggling. Sometimes the cable gets a little disconnected and the music cuts out. It's starting to get annoying. I've never done anything DIY in audio, but I'm willing to try something to fix this. Any advice? Also, not sure if this should go in a different thread? Thanks all. Report

August 4, 201115 yr comment_462455 This thread may be useful to you if you're uneasy about delving into diy 650 repair: http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/390615/project-frankensixfifties-tm-w-pics He used 580 cups, which may or may not be significantly different - I have no idea. Good luck though. Report
August 4, 201115 yr comment_462538 The grill pops off and the driver just snaps into place. Its held by fours plastic tabs. So the question becomes, what happened? If it was properly seated, it shouldn't just come loose. The link provided above is a start. Here's another as part of a "de-foaming". http://apuresound.com/hdsennmod.html Hopefully once the grill is removed, the tabs aren't broken. If ok, it should all just snap back together. The whole set of cans is pretty much like that. Report
August 5, 201115 yr Author comment_462648 Aw sweet! I just took the grill off (didn't know you could just pry it open) and the driver was practically falling out of its little socket. I just pushed it back in so it was nice and snug and everything is perfect! Thanks for the advice everyone. Report

November 2, 201114 yr comment_478280 I did notice that the newer senns have no more clips inside. I wonder why they changed that. My old hd580s from the early 90s had clips that made the drivers stick in there pretty good. Report
