I think most sound cards are ok. I havenât researched much because I trust apogee and my main concern is capture, and I have the best in the world for that

Oh yeah, I figured I'd need a new mic(s) Any idea in that cheapo external soundcard I linked or the Soundblaster? Anything else I should look at? Hoping to loop in the midi inputs on our keyboard eventually as well, though I can do that on the Behringer I think.

Ofc such metal piece cannot be placed inside driver, only outside of stator, your right. -

There is no way to do that, that would have to be awfully thing metal and how would it be attached. If you attached it on the diaphragm side then it would short out the driver and it would simply cause more reflections on the other side -
Youâll get way better results for the price to just record the turntable output directly (post phono stage) receiver tape outs, rca splitters, etc to get a copy of the audio signal, then into whatever sound card or adc youâre using. that behringer mic is terrible, and is really just a known quantity for spectrum analysis.

Other people play music and I record it for the kind of recording I do this is in the running for the most d-_-b way to do it outside mics are dpa 4015 sub cardioids mics at a 90 degree angle to get room âspaceâ next in are schoeps mk41v HyperCards at a 110 degree spacing to catch clarity and make up for being a little farther back than is ideal the football is a schoeps surround setup called double midside. It has a front and rear facing mic and then a 3d mic to add sides i can blend them or isolate any of them depending on how things turn out Sonosax recorder and preamp are basically the best battery powered options on the market, 12 channels of 192/32

The Official Head-Case Photography Thread.

With Martin Parrâs recent passing, articles have resurfaced, including on a single vote getting him in Magnum. See how angry/joking photographers can get. âThe other person to avoid was Martin Parr. As he put it, he was photographing a Magnum Annual Party for the first and last time â using a flash with a thing like a Styrofoam coffee cup on the end of it. My penile extension, he explained hopefully (but unsuccessfully) to any lady who passed by. I mean if Magnum had to hire someone to do the party pictures, did it have to be Martin? Heâs clearly not as successful as we all thought, if he needs to do birthday parties, Bar Mitzvahs and weddings. I sincerely hope the Magnum blogsite goes down before he has a chance to post. I mean, if Magnum wanted to hire a party photographer, why couldnât they have selected a nice âconcerned photographerâ like Philip Jones Griffiths or Ian Berry to do them â photographers who photograph you with dignity and humanism and make you look good â instead of the appallingly âcynicalâ and âironicâ Parr? Garry Winogrand and Diane Arbus did enough pictures at the MoMA of people looking demented without Parr adding to them.â -

My mistake - that green/yellow PCB part I mentioned is from the other side of driver (facing outside). So no changes here probably. Back to stators - I was wondering about covering it partially with some thin sheet of metal, to make more compression inside drivers (similar to drivers from 007). That would change tonality, but in which direction ...đ¤ -

The drivers are the same except new diaphragms and naturally new diaphragm holders for both dust covers and the main films. The material, tension, treatment and even the direction of the tension is all crucial to how the headphones sound. Still with the stock housings and stators, there is only so much that can be done. Now sure what green PCB you are referring to though? There is nothing like that in the stock headphones. -
Saw some talk about this and decided to make a new version. use either the tube unbal/bal to bal board, or the solid state version result is about 125 watts rms into 8 ohms at thd of .005% will definitely drive 4 ohms with suitably large power supplies. transistors are standard pinout, so pick your favorite output transistors. the to220 transistors are mje15034/mje15035 perfect for so many things, including esl boost transformers. pioneera09.pdf

That's awesome! You play music and record it using that?

Nice work, thanks for sharing. You report more bass and little different tonality that made them more enyoable for you. In summary the most important parts of this project: 1. Internal dimensions and stators are unchanged. 2. Protecting membranes are changed. 3. Diaphragms are new. 4. Green PCB changed to your own black PCB with higher distance for earpads's lips. Is it correct? I cannot find if you sealed them in any special way more than they were? If so, I guess that tension of new diaphragrams and dust covers are responsible for more bass. -
Makes a lot of sense. Binaural isn't my goal, but I'd like to faithfully reproduce/record the vinyl playback if it's feasible for less than $1k...probably not from the sound of things. I'd be running the streaming microphone off of the Behringer, so I don't think 70db of gain should be a problem. Not sure what to use for digital audio yet (I need optical in and out to loop in the Behringer), looking at the Soundblaster GC7 or maybe this as I think it will work... https://www.canadacomputers.com/en/external-sound-cards/237279/vantec-usb-external-7-1-channel-audio-adapter-nba-200u-nba-200u.html

you should see some of the chinese cfa3 ripoffs for around $1600. one in particular is fairly decent, the rest are trash. just wait till the chinese start selling the D&G clones. running with multiple >1kv power supplies. what could possibly go wrong. - Last week

So they just stole the design and didn't even ask permission before selling it for 20k euros?
